4 more LEGO Pokemon sets leaked

Details of four undeclared LEGO Pokémon sets have appeared leaked online, listing their prices and number of pieces, while repeating some previously reported information. Aside from sharing the same theme, the leaked sets have one key detail in common: they're reportedly traditional kits that aren't designed with LEGO's new Smart Play platform in mind.

LEGO formally introduced its Smart Play offerings in early January 2026. Presented as an evolution of the company's iconic toys, the platform centers on bricks with multiple sensors that can detect their position, orientation, light, sound or other LEGO elements, allowing them to react by playing sounds, flashing lights or both. The new LEGO Pokémon theme is expected to spearhead the Danish toymaker's Smart Play push, according to several earlier reports from credible leakers. However, the very first one Pokémon sets that LEGO revealed were not Smart Play-enabled, and more such offerings are reportedly on the way.

A January 23rd report from established leaker lego_minecraft_goat shared some new details about four upcoming Pokémon sets from LEGO, all of which are said to be traditional kits without Smart Play functionality. The most affordable is set number 72510, which reportedly contains 757 pieces and is slated to retail for around $69.99. The same source expanded on earlier reports about set 72160, attaching a number of 1,190 pieces and a price tag of $99.99 to the rumored kit. Set 72168 is said to contain fewer pieces—1,038—but will reportedly cost $129.99. The final leaked kit is described as a large build with 2,339 pieces, priced at $259.99. That puts it in the same range as the recently revealed LEGO Pikachu and Poke Ball set, which contains 2,050 pieces and is currently available for pre-order for $199.99. The list also includes three age ratings, most of which had already been leaked back in November. The view to more traditional Pokémon sets may be welcome news to longtime collectors, some of whom have recently expressed skepticism about LEGO's Smart Play line. Its reveal led to mixed reactions online, with some fans seeing it as primarily aimed at children, while others criticized the “technification” of LEGO's traditionally analogue toys, which are already a relatively expensive hobby even without sensors, batteries or NFC tags. Compounding the problem, LEGO plans only a limited rollout of Smart Play this year, so even all collectors interested in the new sensor-equipped sets may not be able to purchase them in the near future.

Still, a significant part of LEGO's 2026 LEGO Pokémon the line is rumored to be Smart Play focused. Limited details of ten such products have already leaked online in December, detailing a diverse range of products including at least one Pokémon-shaped house, two evolution depictions and even a battle between Jolteon and Charizard.

Based on current reactions on social media, many fans have expressed disappointment that all three previously revealed LEGO Pokémon sets focus on substantial brick-built models rather than minifigures. Given the wide range of sizes among different moon species, this trend may continue, possibly because LEGO determined that its traditional minifig molds could not provide sufficient character detail.

The first three LEGO Pokémon sets – 72151 Eevee, 72152 Pikachu and Poke Ball and 72153 Venusaur, Charizard and Blastoise – are scheduled for release on February 27. Another, larger wave of products is expected to drop on August 1st, but may be officially announced at least a month or two in advance. The recently leaked sets are all rumored to be part of that summer.
