It has been a bit of a mixed start to the year PlayStation Plus. January 2026's PS Plus free games didn't quite reach the lofty heights of December 2025's PS Plus lineup, with Need for Speed Unbound, Core Keeperand Epic Mickey: Rebrushed pales in comparison to the likes of Neon white, LEGO Horizon Adventures, The Outlast Trialsand Killing Floor 3—at least for some. Thankfully, the PlayStation Plus Extras and Premiums line-up for January 2026 was a bit better, although there's still plenty of room for improvement in February.
A total of nine games will leave PlayStation Plus in February 2026, including popular titles such as Cult of the Lamb, The ascentand WWE 2K25. To make up for those losses and get the year back on track, PlayStation Plus will need to swing for the fences next month, and it all starts with PS Plus' free monthly games.
PS Plus Free Games for February 2026 Wish List: Resident Evil 7
Read Game Rant's review of Resident Evil 7
On February 27, 2026, the world will be treated to a new one Resident Evil main line entry. Takes place 30 years after the events of Resident Evil 2 and 3, Resident Evil Requiem will take players back to Raccoon City, but this time they'll play as both returning fan-favorite Leon Kennedy and new series protagonist Grace Ashcroft. As Leon, players will engage in action-heavy, zombie-killing sequences, while as Grace, they will rely more on stealth due to their limited resources. Essentially, Resident Evil Requiem merges the survival horror game from Resident Evil 7 with the more action oriented game off Resident Evil 4.
It would be great to see PlayStation Plus properly prepare fans and newcomers alike for this upcoming one Resident Evil experience by offering early entry as part of PS Plus' monthly free games. Although it is the latest main post, Resident Evil Village was just added to PS Plus Extra this month, meaning the most appropriate game to appear in the PS Plus Essentials lineup for February 2026 is Resident Evil 7. An entry that returns the series to its survival horror roots, Resident Evil 7 was also directed by the same man helming RequiemKoshi Nakanishi. Resident Evil 7 was available on PS Plus Extra back in February 2023, but it was removed a year later and hasn't reappeared since. As such, it would be a perfect addition to next month's list.
Back in June 2025, PlayStation announced that they would stop offering PS4 titles as part of the PS Plus monthly free games. But as evidenced by PS Plus' January 2026 deals, as long as PS4 titles have a PS5 version, they're still fair game. With that in mind, Resident Evil 7 would still be a viable option for PS Plus, as it received a PS5 upgrade in 2022.

PS Plus Free Games for February 2026 Wish List: Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth
Read Game Rant's review of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth
Final Fantasy 7 Remake having a bit of a moment right now. After experiencing nearly six years of console exclusivity, PlayStation finally let go Final Fantasy 7 Remakeand it has found its way to Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch 2, where it works extremely well on both. But while PlayStation may have lost Final Fantasy ace up its sleeve, it can easily conjure up another.
Final Fantasy 7 Remake is available now via PlayStation Plus Extra, but its 2024 sequel is nowhere to be seen. Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth on PS Plus' February free games list would have the power to single-handedly put PlayStation Plus back in the good books, likely keeping it there for a very long time.

February 2026 wishlist for PS Plus Extra and Premium
- Nioh 2: The third entry in Team Ninja's surprisingly awesome Soulslike series will be released on February 6th. Before that, PlayStation Plus should add Nioh 2 to its Extra/Premium library, allowing newcomers to catch up on the series ahead of the new release.
- The Witcher 3: It may not have left the service until August 2025, but many fans are already missing it The Witcher 3 on PlayStation Plus. It has been heavily rumored The Witcher 3 will be getting a new expansion in May 2026, so it would be nice for PS Plus to let fans replay the modern RPG classic before its alleged release.
- LEGO Marvel Super Heroes: LEGO games are common on PlayStation Plus Extra/Premium, but one of the few that isn't currently available on the service is LEGO Marvel Super Heroes. This is a real shame, like LEGO Marvel Super Heroes widely regarded as one of the best LEGO games ever made, with its open world shockingly fun to explore, and its story a true homage to the legendary comic universe.
- Resident Evil Code Veronica: According to leaker Dusk Golem, a Resident Evil: Code Veronica remake will be revealed in late 2026. PS Plus is in a prime position to make this potential announcement an even bigger deal than it already would be, as Code Veronica is a tricky game to get your hands on these days, especially if you're trying to buy a physical PS2 copy.
- Star Wars Revenge of the Sith: PlayStation Plus has a surprising number Star Wars games currently in its Extra and Premium libraries. But there is always room for more. Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith may not be the most celebrated Star Wars game, but it's an incredibly nostalgic title for many fans, and it would be great to see on PS Plus.
- Sea of Stars: While Sea of stars actually came to PlayStation Plus at launch in August 2023, it left the service a year later and hasn't returned since. That means there are plenty of PS Plus subscribers out there who wouldn't have had the chance to play one of the most acclaimed RPGs in recent history.
