Zelda characters were available in New leaf. However, it wasn't until the release of update 3.0 that they became available Animal Crossing: New Horizons. This guide tells players how to unlock Zelda characters, furniture and clothing i New horizons.
How to invite Zelda characters in Animal Crossing: New Horizons
Tulin and Mineru played a big part in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom back in 2023. They have now joined Animal Crossing series as a villager i New horizons.
To get Tulin or Mineru on their island, players must scan Zelda amiibo in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Each amiibo is tied to one of these two characters, and depending on which players have at home, they may be able to invite one or two of them to move to their island.
To invite an amiibo villager to their campsite, players must go to the Resident Services building, use the ABD terminal and select the Invite Camper option. Then they have to scan the amiibo and talk to the character to make them appear at the campsite.
After this, they just need to talk to them at the campsite and invite them to move to the island. Here are the villagers that each amiibo will spawn:

The Zelda characters available in New leaf (Wolf Life, Medli, Epona and Ganon) cannot be obtained in New horizons; scanning amiibo that would make either of these characters appear will still only invite Tulin or Mineru to the players' campsite.
