Fallout Season 2 Episode 5 has a very surprising New Vegas Cameo

Fallout season two has divided fans of Fallout: New Vegas so far. While the showrunners have stuck to their promise not to give us a canon ending for the game, it has killed off some fan favorites and doubled down on there being little in the way of civilization in the wasteland.

Episode 5 has just been released and has improved it a bit. For starters, we see a kind of thriving Freeside, which, if anything, looks a little bigger than it did in New Vegas. We also saw the Atomic Wrangler, which looks even cleaner than it did in the games, finally addressing that pet peeve many of us have about how everyone in the wasteland just lives among their own filth.

Early fallout Funko Pop reveal may have spoiled a major season two plot twist

Look away now unless you want to find out a big reveal that's probably being saved for episode five.

Even better, we got a cameo from a character from the games, and they wasn't it already long dead or unceremoniously killed. I'm talking, of course, about the brief appearance of Fisto in the last episode. And while it didn't have its name – or its iconic tagline – there was no mistaking who it was.

Fisto is alive and well (?) After The Events Of Fallout: New Vegas

The surprise cameo takes place when we see the snack oil salesman from season one make his way to New Vegas. Once he gets there, he sits down for a lovely candlelit dinner somewhere in or around town… with none other than Fisto.

Now, we don't hear the name “Fisto” on the show, but Protectron describes itself as a fully integrated security engineer – and therefore Fisto. Unfortunately, Fisto cannot be used for his primary purpose, as the date is interrupted by Hank MacLean, who kidnaps the snake oil salesman for his ongoing experiments.

If you are interested in having your own “date” with Fisto, play New Vegas and complete the Wang Dang Atomic Tango quest.

I mean, I guess Fisto is okay. Probably. It appears to no longer be employed by Atomic Wrangler, but we also saw that the place has a new owner, one who isn't someone who not-so-secretly wants to screw with robots. I'm sure it will land on its feet elsewhere.
