Yuji Itadori is now one of the most dynamic protagonists in the shōnen genre, not only because of his raw physical power but also because of how he will acquire his strength through blood, loss, and defiance. Although most fight in Jujutsu Kaisen are insane battles, Yuji has moments of glory characterized by pure rage, emotional stakes, and higher than ever displays of cursed energy that astonish both his opponents and viewers.
The difference between Yuji and other shōnen leads is that each fight is made personal. His wins aren't clean, and his defeats have scars that don't actually heal. Whenever Yuji goes all out, it's never about winning, it's always about saving someone, showing respect for someone, or putting an end to something that should never have been. The article at the time of writing only focuses on the strongest points of Yuji Itadori in the anime at the moment.

Yuji Itadori and Nobara Kugisaki vs. Death Painting Brothers

Accomplices |
It is in this battle that Yuji and Nobara stop being promising students and become real threats. Unlike Eso and Kechizu, they are already quite familiar with their cursed technique. The unique aspect of this fight is not survival, but how Yuji and Nobara have the confidence to trust each other in the midst of unconditional danger. Nobara witnesses firsthand how well he can be trusted when there is no time to lose, and the battle quietly demonstrates that Yuji is already on a higher plane of physical ability compared to most of the other wizards around him.
The power and speed of Yuji has been seen to be amazing so far, but not as much as Eso was about to catch up with Yuji and Nobara to kill them. Yuji picked up Nobara and ran faster than she could ever imagine, impressing both Nobara and Eso. It's also cute to note that Yuji had always been able to run this fast, but he just decided not to leave Nobara behind.
Yuji Vs. Choso during the Shibuya incident

Title |
Red scale |
The meeting between Yuji and Choso in the Shibuya incident seems unfair at first. Poor boy Yuji has been in and out of fights all night. And facing an opponent like Choso who is more skilled, precise and ruthlessly efficient with Blood Manipulation. Yuji, on the other hand, already wounded, overtaxed, and placed in a confined area with no possibility of escape, still manages to block a direct blood-piercing move that shows how much stronger he has become.
It's a proven fact at this point that Yuji refuses to go down. He takes hits that are fatal and continues to move despite being wounded, even managing to fight off full-blood attacks with just instincts and sheer strength. This isn't the time that makes Yuji look invincible, it's the time that makes him look terribly determined, one that simply refuses to keep getting back to his feet.
Landing several black flashes at Hanami

Black lightning |
Landing a Black Flash once is something extraordinary. The fact that Yuji does it multiple times to Hanami seems surreal. The fact that this moment is so rewarding is that it doesn't seem forced, but rather it seems that Yuji has finally coordinated his body, cursed energy and emotions to the point of perfection.
The landing of each Black Flash is important not only to the eye but also to the story. It is at this point that one cannot deny the potential of Yuji. He's not just swinging hard anymore, he's hitting with the kind of terrifying accuracy and showing glimpses of what he could one day grow to be if he continues to mature.

Yuji's first brutal clash with Mahito after Junpei's death

Title |
To you, sometime |
Junpei's death breaks something inside Yuji and Mahito is the vehicle through which it all vents. This is not a clean, controlled or strategic fight, but raw anger served up with fists and arguably one of the best rage moments in anime. Yuji doesn't hesitate at all to throw himself at Mahito, completely ruled by grief and guilt, but at the same time he remains calm. Most wizards at this point would lose control and blindly attack. That's what Mahito thought too, but Yuji proved him wrong.
What is so powerful about this moment is its raw nature. Yuji is not relaxed or confident, he is angry, hopeless and hurt. And yet such an emotional outburst makes him even more dangerous. It's the first time that Yuji's agony can truly turn into pure power.
Yuji Itadori and Aoi Todo's Perfectly Synchronized Battle Against Mahito

Metamorphosis |
Yuji and Todo, having to fight and act together is a bit like two puzzle pieces falling into place. Todo's ferocity hides his brilliant tactical mind, and Yuji will get along with him at first sight. Their level of coordination becomes so effective that Mahito, a special class curse, begins to lose control of the fight.
Yuji is as flexible as possible. He is an egoless listener, reactor and has complete trust in Todo. Each strike is more powerful because they are part of something bigger. It's one of the best illustrations of Yuji being an even stronger force when he finds a person who fully understands him.

Special class curses are exceptionally powerful, and they can make short work of the best wizards.
Yuji Itadori overpowers Mahito by attacking his soul

Right and wrong, part 2 |
When Yuji runs into Mahito again at Shibuya, he has lost too much to be hesitant. Yuji is sure that Nobara's determination is not irrelevant, and he forces himself to overcome his weakness and fear. His abuse targets not only Mahito's body, but his soul as well, something no wizard other than Nobara has been able to do so far, but even then, Yuji is the only one who can actually hurt him in a meaningful way.
This scene seems like an emotional payoff. Yuji no longer fights based on anger, but faith. The reality behind each battle is hope in his friends and not letting Mahito continue to live after what he did to his mentor, Nanami. It's hard, direct and very gratifying to enjoy.
Yuji Itadori's unwavering determination to kill Mahito

Title |
Metamorphosis |
The most OP moment of Yuji in Jujutsu Kaisen so far is not a black flash or his cursed energy, but his face. Yuji does not rejoice or celebrate after beating Mahito, instead agreeing with his earlier statement, “You and I, we are the same”, when he tells Mahito that no matter when and where he is reborn, Yuji will always kill him. He goes with blank eyes determined to kill him. No doubt. No mercy. Just solve.
This scene turns the tables on the balance of power. Mahito, who used to be playful and cruel, now turns the hunter into a prey. Yuji turns into the very thing Mahito fears: a person who gets to know him and decides to kill him. It's the coldest, strongest version of Yuji we've ever seen in the anime so far and nothing compares.
