Limited Run Games' Sonic x Shadow Generations Collector's Editions have finally started shipping more than a year after the game's launch, but fans are certainly not happy with the end result.
If you're as big a collector's edition fan as I am, then you've no doubt heard of Limited Run Games. While some of the collector's editions they've released have been good (looking at you, Shredder's Revenge), LRG has a reputation for taking an extremely long time to ship orders, which don't always turn out as good as they initially looked.
Over the years, many fanbases have become disaffected with Limited Run Games, and this has never been more evident than with the Sonic community. Some time ago, LRG announced a fantastic looking Sonic x Shadow Generations collector's edition that included a statue of Sonic and Shadow on a Dreamcast, but things haven't been smooth sailing since then.
Limited Run Games' Sonic X Shadow Collector's Editions are finally here, but they may not have been worth the wait
“TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS…”
The original shipping date for the Sonic x Shadow collector's edition was July of this year, which would be more than six months after the original game's release. Not too bad, but still a pretty long wait that was only offset by the cool statue. Things got worse when we finally reached July and LRG announced that the collector's edition had been delayed until November, more than a full year after launch.

Well, it certainly took its sweet time, but the Sonic x Shadow Generations Collector's Editions have finally started reaching customers over the past few days. Unfortunately, it looks like the wait wasn't quite worth it, as fans are already unhappy with how the final product turned out.
Over on Twitter, JLDrawz shared an image of his collector's edition, which features an incredibly shadowy look whose eyes don't look like the original concept images. JLDrawz mocked the statue by pointing out how expensive it was ($200), before promising they won't buy from Limited Run Games again.
While there's a chance that the version like JLDrawz is a misprint and all the others look fine, it's not good considering how long it took to ship the collector's editions. So far it's the only collector's edition I've seen passed around, but it's already caught the ire of Sonic fans who have spent so much time waiting for the end result.
