Isshiki Otsutsuki was introduced in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations as one of the main villains of the story. He came to Earth with Kaguya Otsutsuki to claim the chakra fruit but was betrayed by his partner and left in a critical condition. That's when he took over Jigen's body and stayed inside until he found a suitable vessel. The main reason Isshiki wanted a ship was because he couldn't wield his true power. However, he got an opportunity to show his strength in the fight against Naruto and Sasuke, whom he dominated most of the time. Needless to say, if Naruto hadn't come up with Baryon Mode, Isshiki would have emerged victorious.

Isshiki possessed the Kokugan, a Kekkei Genkai that allowed him to use two special abilities – Sukonahikona and Daikokuten. The latter could seal any object/person affected by Sukunahikona in another dimension. With Sukunahikona, Isshiki was able to shrink himself and all inanimate beings almost instantly. The combination of the two abilities made it impossible to hit Isshiki or avoid being hit by his attacks. If he had fought Naruto at full health, there is no doubt that Otsutsuki would have won.
