Naruto Uzumaki loses his first place as the strongest Jinchuriki in Boruto

This article contains spoilers from the Naruto series.

The Boruto the series has introduced fans to a number of powerful characters. Right from the start, fans were introduced to some very powerful members of the Otsutsuki clan. But despite new introductions, Naruto Uzumaki stood tall as one of the most powerful in the series. A large part of Naruto's strength came from his Tailed Beast, Kurama. The fans know it Naruto was a very powerful Jinchurikiones that could not be matched in battle by many.

Naruto's Madara Uchiha deposed by Sarada Uchiha

Madara Uchiha has officially lost his first place as the strongest Sharingan user

Madara is powerful, but he is not the strongest Sharingan user in Naruto anymore.

But like Boruto series continued, Naruto's influence over the story slowly faded, as did his powers. In fact, right now Naruto Uzumaki can't even be called the strongest Jinchuriki in the story and this is quite clear to see. Instead of the Jinchuriki system, Boruto seems to have introduced a new power that essentially sees Tailed Beasts incarnate into human forms, like Jura.

Naruto is no longer a Jinchuriki in Boruto

Naruto is no longer a Jinchuriki in Boruto

Naruto Uzumaki was the strongest Jinchuriki in the world at the beginning of Boruto series. Fans saw him use the power of Kurama at a very high level, and he also maintained his connection with the other tailed beasts, giving him the ability to use his power in battle. However, his connection with the Tailed Beasts was severed after Kurama's death.

Be good, Naruto. And don't follow me too soon. — Kurama to Naruto Uzumaki

Naruto Uzumaki was no longer a Jinchuriki after the battle against Isshiki. Although still powerful, he was a shadow of his former self. Naruto still had a high level of power, but the Tailed Beast connection was no longer there. After his death, Killer Bee officially became the strongest Jinchuriki in history.

The jinchuriki system is officially obsolete in Boruto

The jinchuriki system is officially obsolete in Boruto

While the Jinchuriki are clearly very powerful, as seen in the Naruto series, Boruto plans to replace the system in its entirety. It seems like the concept of sealing Tailed Beasts within individuals is not something that Kishimoto and Ikemoto aim for. Instead, a new concept has emerged in the Two Blue Vortex that will essentially replace the Jinchuriki system forever.

Listen, Himawari. You are not a Jinchuriki. You are more related to Jura. — Kurama to Himawari

SASUKE Next Power Up Two Blue Vortex

Boruto: Kishimoto just confirmed Sasuke's next big power up after his return

Sasuke has a major power-up coming in, and it will make him stronger than ever in Boruto.

When Jura first appeared in Boruto, fans were immediately told that he is quite special compared to the other Shinju. This is simply because, unlike the others, he is not based on a parent body. He is the incarnation of the juvenile Ten-tails themselves, and that makes him incredibly powerful and nearly impossible to kill.

Later, fans were told that just like Jura, Himawari is also an incarnation of Kurama. This was quite shocking as most fans assumed that Himawari was actually a Jinchuriki. Now it has been officially confirmed that she is something much stronger.

New Incarnate Beasts are stronger than Jinchuriki

Jinchuriki were once the pinnacle of power in the Naruto series. Now, however, their existence is obsolete. It seems like Tailed Beasts will now manifest as incarnations within humansinstead of just being sealed inside people. This would be better for the tailed beasts, as they would be able to form friendly bonds with those around them, and it would also make them much stronger, as the story has already established the fact that tailed beasts incarnate are much stronger than Jinchuriki.

with Boruto, the concept of Jinchuriki is now officially dead. Right now, Killer Bee is most likely the last Jinchuriki, and he too will eventually fade from existence, meaning that going forward, only the Tailed Beast incarnate will be in the story.

Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 29 is set for its official release on December 18, 2025. The release time of the chapter is 10:00 AM EST/3:00 PM UTC. As always, fans can read the chapter officially for free on the Manga Plus and Shonen Jump apps.
