From Scrafty to Mega Dragonite ex, there's yet another reason to be hyped about these Mega Dream ex cards, with the introduction of a new rarity level. Mega Attack Rare (MAR) cards feature bright, comic book-style illustrations of Mega Pokémon, with large upper and lowercase text, as onomatopoeia usually is, and vibrant bursts of color that stand out as the primary draws of these newly introduced cards.
Given that this is a Japanese set, the bold text appears in English, while the English version of this card will feature the onomatopoeia-style text in Japanese, creating an unusual crossover between the two languages. If you want to pay tribute to your favorite Pokemon and show your love for the Pokemon TCG as a whole, these Mega Attack Rares will help you do just that.

Mega Charizard ex: Mega Attack Rare – $53.50
Speaking of bold, comic-book-like text, there's a direct reference to another Japanese set on this Mega Charizard X card, where Inferno X has its own list of valuable cards, including Charizard. The English version of Inferno X, Phantasmal Flames, also has several valuable cards that easily stand out as some of the most expensive cards released in 2025.
Charizard has captured our collective attention since the debut of Pokémon as a series, and its Mega X form is easily one of the most popular depictions of this iconic character. While this MAR may not fetch the same amount as some of the other valuable versions of this Pokemon in other sets, it offers one of the coolest illustrations you can find for the relatively low price, compared to other similar versions.

Mega Gengar ex: Mega Attack Rare – $55.00
Mega Gengar ex is another wildly loved Mega Evolution featured in Mega Dream ex, with this MAR being the second most expensive version of Gengar in the set. With this Pokémon standing out as the main focus of Mega Dream, it's nice to see that you can still pick up an incredibly detailed design with this Pokémon without having to sell a few grams of gold to afford it.
The Void Gale text may not look as epic in English as the Japanese text can, but Gengar's wide smile still gives this card a lot of appeal, as the Pokemon's design is accentuated by a perfect purple and pink mix. This card will fly under the radar for the foreseeable future, but one day it will rise in value if past trends are any indication.

Mega Diancie ex: Special Art Rare – $58.99
Mega Diancie is a rare inclusion in any set, let alone as a Special Art Rare that features a sparkling stage with a warm combination of white and pink accents. Mega Diancie also stands out as the only Legendary or Mythical Pokémon in the set with a Mega Evolution, giving it clear distinction as one of the must-have Mega Pokémon given its close connection to the Kalos region.
At under $60, this card will go down as one of the biggest finds in the set, although it's hard to say how much more expensive it will be in English, due to the lack of Diancie cards to compare this SAR to. Arguably, there has never been a Diancie card so detailed before, and it may be the most well-illustrated depiction of this Pokémon in TCG history.

Mega Froslass ex: Special Art Rare – $67.19
If you like underrepresented Pokemon, then Mega Froslass ex will appeal to you, thanks to this card's icy aura and the perfect contrast between the Pokemon's simple color palette and the darker, more complex illustrations in the background. Froslass has gone far too long without getting anything to celebrate, but this card could be the perfect gift for Froslass fans.
If you've been waiting for something a little different that has the potential to rise in value, then this Mega Froslass card would be a solid choice, especially if you choose to collect the English version upon release. Just don't expect this Japanese card to do much better on the price list than it is right now.

Mega Dragonite ex: Special Art Rare – $296.80
Mega Dragonite soars above the rest of the Mega Pokémon we've examined so far, despite the outpouring of hate you may have noticed when its design was originally revealed. While there's no denying that this Pokémon's design is far from universally loved, SAR stands out as one of the most beautiful balances between bright colors and multiple motifs, while maintaining a clear central focus.
If you love Mega Dragonite, there probably won't be many better cards to celebrate your appreciation for this Dragon-type Pokemon, and the English version will certainly cost a lot more than this.

Mega Gengar claims top billing as the most expensive Mega Pokemon in the set, while also earning the crown of most valuable card in Mega Dream ex. Gengar's mischievous, dangerous powers are perfectly captured in this ominous, action-packed scene with a very busy backdrop.
The green and purple sludge in the foreground stands as the balancing color palette for the red and orange flames simmering behind Mega Gengar in the center of the frame. The English version of this card won't be cheap, so you might want to go for the Japanese version if you just want to enjoy the artwork.
