Battlefield 6 reveals what's coming in the next update

A Battlefield 6 the developer has revealed that the game will receive some crucial visibility changes in upcoming updates. As it stands, there are some very specific situations where the visibility of the player model is really bad Battlefield 6and good players can exploit this to gain an advantage over others. And while some players will always be better at using the environment to their advantage than others, the current implementation doesn't quite work as intended.

It has been almost two months since the launch of Battlefield 6and developer Battlefield Studios have been hard at work fine-tuning the experience while continuing to execute on their seasonal plans. The result has been very frequent game updates too Battlefield 6 and an ever-evolving experience that keeps getting better. Battlefield Studios hasn't been afraid to act on player feedback either Battlefield 6resulting in a game that the majority of players are happy with.

Player visibility will be addressed in future Battlefield 6 updates

Over on X, lead game designer on Battlefield 6 Florian Le Bihan admitted that the player's visibility is not good in the game at the moment, and confirmed that Battlefield Studios “will repeat it for the upcoming updates.” However, players should not expect everything to be resolved overnight. Le Bihan pointed out that visibility will not be fixed overnight Battlefield 6 update because “there's a lot to look at and there's a balance to be found between art and gameplay.” This makes sense – there are tons of fixes that can make players more visible, but don't necessarily look good. And in such a great game as Battlefield 6that would be a great shame.

In a follow-up post, Le Bihan described a specific scenario where visibility for Battlefield 6 the player models need to be improved. He cited “players having a hard time seeing in dark areas, especially when exposed,” as a situation that should be addressed in the future. The whole thread was a response to a condemnation Battlefield 6 clip where a player was killed by an enemy lying in front of a group of garbage bags. Admittedly, the player is nearly impossible to see, even when re-watching the footage, so it's understandable why dying like this right now would feel incredibly frustrating. And in the end, if Battlefield 6 is to continue to thrive, the last thing it wants to do is actively annoy players.

Player response to Le Bihan's post was actually somewhat mixed. While many players were quite happy about player visibility being addressed Battlefield 6Likewise, there was an argument for dark areas to stay dark. After all, players can ping the whereabouts of others Battlefield 6and see them so others can see them. So while there are tools players can use to prevent others from hiding in low-visibility areas for long periods of time, that doesn't mean the developer shouldn't try to improve the situation where they can. There's also the argument that players who take the time to learn the low-vis overpowered locations should be rewarded, but that risks isolating worse players who don't know how to handle this.

On December 9, Battlefield 6 Season 1 will drop the last of its offerings with the Ice Lock Empire State event. There's also a new melee weapon for the Ice Climbing Axe, giving players a new way to get up close and personal with their enemies. Total, Battlefield 6 Season 1 has been a success, with the Blackwell Fields and Eastwood maps being the highlights. Hopefully, it won't be long before players get a glimpse of what's next for the game in Season 2.
