Fewer than half of players have defeated Elden Ring Nightreign's eight Night Lords

Elden Ring Nightreign was the Elden Ring spin-off that no one really asked for. Despite this, the roguelike formula endeared itself to gamers, launching to excellent critical reviews (and mixed reviews from early players, which have since risen to “Very Positive”) and staggering numbers on Steam.

The crux of the game is to survive for three days and get a showdown with one of Nightreign's infamous Nightlords. There are eight to choose from to finish off your night, but almost six months later, fewer than half of all players have managed to conquer every single one of them.

Elden Ring Nightreign's Nightlords are still proving too much for some players

The Fire Ring Nightreign's Nightlords marks a successful day in the world of the game. Designed to stop you at the last hurdle, these bosses are a step up from those encountered in Limveld, and they certainly seem to do the job.

Using the game's performance data, we've found that in the first six months, less than half of all players on Steam have defeated each of the eight, with 48.7 percent achieving the feat. That number drops further when looking at PlayStation data, with 45.9 percent defeating all eight, and it drops again on Xbox to just 34.19 percent.

The Fire Ring Nightreign somehow beats the shadow of the Erdtree in this one key area

Is Elden Ring Nightreign really that good, or was Shadow of the Erdtree treated unfairly?

Using the same data (from Steam), we can find out which Nightlords have given players the most trouble so far:

  • Tricephalus – 82 percent
  • Gaping jaw – 69.4 percent
  • Sentient Plague – 64.7 percent
  • Augur – 62.3 percent
  • Balanced beast – 57.3 percent
  • Crack in the fog – 56.9 percent
  • Darkdrift Knight – 56.7 percent
  • Night Aspect – 52.2 percent

Of course, Tricephalos is at the top, considering it's the game's first mandatory Nightlord. At this point, 82 percent of players have overcome Nightreign's first major skill check. Gaping Jaw is the second most beaten, with 69.4 percent of players, and Sentient Pest is third, with 64.7 percent. At the other end of the scale, the Night Aspect has proven to be the hardest for players, with only 52.2 percent defeating the boss.

Players only have a couple of weeks to get these ticked off before FromSoftware introduces Elden Ring Nightreign's first major expansion, The Forsaken Hollows. The DLC will include two new Nightfarers, a couple of new bosses and a new Shifting Earth.
