PEAK gets its second major update with ROOTS, replacing the tropics with an all-new and deadly biome, ripe with fungi that can turn even the sweetest scouts into flesh-eating zombies. One of the new achievements and badges added in PEAK's ROOTS update is the Undead Encounter badge, and it requires players to cure a zombie bite. Below, players can find exactly how to get bitten by a zombie, how to cure it, and what reward they will receive for their bravery.

To cure a zombie bite in PEAK, you must consume a medicinal root or a mandrake. Both of these items can usually spawn in the ROOTS biome, and are easy to find on the ground, known for their carrot-like appearance with green leaves sticking out of their heads. Be warned, the Mandrake will scream if you take too long to eat it. After consuming Medicinal Root or Mandrake, your Spores meter will go down and will no longer rise, as you would have cured your zombie bite.

If you're looking to get bitten by a zombie and you're playing solo, just explore the ROOTS biome, because eventually you'll see Looker, an orange scout covered in mushrooms, who will lunge at you and bite you. You will know you are infected with a zombie bite because the Spore meter on your stamina bar will continue to rise, and if you are not treated you will become a zombie when you have no stamina left.

After successfully curing a zombie bite, you'll earn the Undead Encounter badge, an achievement that adds a new badge to your belt and also provides you with the Pumpkin Hat cosmetic.
