I miss Solo Leveling. Yes, anime (and manhwa) are divisive, but sometimes you just want to see an overpowered protagonist destroy some terrifying enemies while (seemingly) barely breaking a sweat. Now love anime OP MCsand every season has at least a couple of shows that go in that direction; however, very few of them have the production value or quality that Solo Leveling.
Still, these comics can be a lot of fun, even when they're a little rough around the edges. More importantly, they're good old fashioned “turn off your brain” entertainment, which everyone needs sometimes. Fall 2025 has arguably one of the strongest series of overpowered protagonist anime in a long time, including the return of One Punch Man. As Solo Leveling Season 3 is barely a moment on the horizon, these four shows currently airing might be able to fill the void while we wait for Sung's return. These four anime are also quite different from each other.
One Punch Man season 3 is excluded as it does not require further promotion. The new season didn't get off to the best start either.
A wild final boss appeared!
If you miss Solo Leveling's Over-The-Top Battles
A wild final boss appeared is essentially Overlord with a female protagonist. Nothing really wrong with that, and the anime adaptation has been a blast so far, as long as you go in expecting fights that are mostly one-way slaughter. One guy becomes Lufas, 200 years after the overlord was defeated in a game called Exgate. Except now it's not a game, and this new version of Lufas sets out to rebuild his army, called the Twelve Stars of Heaven.
Although the story has been good so far, A wild final boss appeared is primarily about exaggeration, with Lufas razing enemies with style and a certain viciousness that only a handful of protagonists are willing to display. The fight sequences are bombastic and quite gory, which is refreshing for an isekai. The MC is overwhelmingly powerful from the start, so she doesn't go through Sung's growth, but she has to learn about the current state of the world.
My Gift Lvl 9999 Unlimited Gacha: Backstabbed in a Backwater Dungeon, I'm Out for Revenge!
If you miss Solo Leveling's Zero To All-Powerful Journey
My Gift Lvl 9999 Unlimited Gacha have the most Solo Leveling opening episodes of these fall 2025 anime. In fact, the main character, Light, is left for dead in a dungeon while staring down a terrifying enemy they can't hope to defeat, only to eventually unlock a special ability. Technically, Light always had access to the unlimited Gacha skill that summons random cards, but they were almost completely useless; but, surrounded by this dungeon's mana, he manages to summon a level 9999 Seeker Maid that WIPES THE FLOOR with the enemy.
With an overwhelming ally who sees him as her master, Light embarks on a mission of revenge against the group that tried to kill him, all the while going OP in a millisecond. Like Sung's Necromancy, Light relies on summons to fight for him, as he is not very strong himself. He also exists in a world that disregards humans as the lowest of the low, which is hardly different from being classified as an F-rank hunter.
My status as an assassin obviously surpasses that of heroes
If you miss Solo Leveling's Loner Protagonist
Another isekai anime, My status as an assassin obviously surpasses that of heroes goes down the “whole class is called to another world” route, where the students find themselves in the presence of a kingdom's ruler who desperately needs their help to take down the demon lord. They are assigned unique classes, and Akira Oda is branded an assassin; but he immediately notices that his stats are higher than those of his peers. More importantly, Akira is hesitant to buy the king's story, a decision that leads to him being convicted of murder and banished.
Akira Oda's personality is strikingly similar to Sung Jin-woo, especially after the latter's transformation. They are contemplative loners who try to keep their abilities a secret from almost everyone, and they work tirelessly to become stronger. Akira even goes to a dungeon to level up quickly, similar to Sung, and they are both driven by their family ties. Akira even looks like Sung. Akira is a bit more inquisitive and analytical, but they both use their brains along with their abilities in fights.

Sand is strange. Seriously, the story is about Santa Claus. Yes, the one that comes down the chimney once a year. In the anime's universe, Santa Claus has become a myth, but he is actually a real being who can manifest in his descendants when they meet specific conditions. Sanda learns this the hard way after he is forced to wear a red jacket, which instantly transforms him from a teenager into a jacked Saint Nick, which also affects the child's mind.
Sanda's transformation into Santa isn't all that different from Sung's transition, with both processes involving significant changes to the protagonist's personality that seem to be beyond their control. Sanda also needs to gradually learn the extent of his abilities and grow stronger, so he's not exactly unstoppable.
The science Saru handles Sandso the animation is frenetic, vivid and overall amazing. The anime looks very different Solo Levelingbut they both shine in this department.
