After a consecutive cavalcade of disappointing items, 2023's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 was the straw that broke the camel's back. Its short campaign was mocked, its open world zombies mode was criticized, its multiplayer mode felt like a cheap game for nostalgia, and that everyone led it to be crowned as the worst ranked Customs calls Entry into history (according to Metacritic's critic average). Flash forward one year and Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Is up to Bat, the weight of a whole franchise on the shoulders.
The first Customs calls Released during the Xbox ownership, the latest post in a beloved subject and follow-up of franchise's lowest ranked post, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Had an incredibly steep mountain to climb. But against all odds it got to the top. Black Ops 6The campaign was celebrated, its zombies mode felt like a return to shape, and Omnimovement gave the series multiplayer formula an exciting new spin. Of course, Black Ops 6 don't be perfect, and it was a big question with the 2024 post that Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Already seems to be lateral.
Call of duty: black ops 6's maps missed the brand
One of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6The biggest problem was its multiplayer -map design. Obvious Black Ops 6First beta, the game's maps were simply too small. While the tight interiors in Rewind's stores and the narrow rooms in Skyline's penthouse held players on their toes and made sure they were always right in the action, the chaos that created from these little cartilage souts quickly became annoying.
While Customs callsFaster pace has often led to complaints about spawnpoint, it became a serious and undeniable issue for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6With the smaller size of their maps that often force players to play until at least one member of the opposite team. Also the tighter layouts of Black Ops 6Maps also often led to unwanted firefighting where a player would be put against several rapid enemies.
The lack of traditional three-lantern maps in Black Ops 6 Really didn't help the chaos. Classic Customs calls Maps such as favela, hijacked and HighRise used their three-lans layouts to ensure that the entire team did not collide at once, giving players a little more breathing room between fire battles and allowed them to be a little more tactical in their teamwork and movements, especially under objective based situations.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 7's Maps is already a step-up
There are 13 original maps confirmed for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7the entire launch, six of which are currently playable in Black Ops 7 Open beta:
-
The blacksmith
-
Imprint
-
Blackheart
-
Exposure
-
Bark
-
Toshin
All six of these Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Open beta maps go a long way to remedy Bo6S biggest mistake.
Along with 13 new, original maps, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will contain three remastered Bo2 Maps (cut, express, raid) and two screen maps.
Three driving maps are back with revenge
What sets immediately Call of Duty: Black Ops 7Maps apart from Bo6S is their use of a more traditional three-lane structure. All sex Bo7 Open beta maps have a three-lane that awakens the classic Cod Multiplayer feeling and flow. Fire fights usually involve only 2-3 people, the map overall is logical meaning and even the smallest maps are large enough to avoid Black Ops 6S spawn points misery.
The maps found in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Beta is also raised by the content of the lane itself. Each map has three lanes that differ from each other in both subtle and open ways, both of which help spice up the game and cement the map's layout in the players' memory. Call of Duty: Black Ops 7Impressions are a good example of this.
The right lane of impressions gives players a small platform that in itself is divided into two sections; One side offers two boxes to duck behind, the other offers a wall jump that connects to the midfield. The middle lane orbits around an enclosed central space, with an uncertainly placed window above and a moving platform in its heart. This moving platform then records in the left lane action, which is the perfect place for snike shooters thanks to its opposite elevated structures.
This layout is far from revolutionary, but the individuality in each lane and the unique game glimpse on a moving platform does a lot to keep the map memorable and to help it stand out from Beta's other offers.
Black Ops 7's Maps are not really perfect
But while fun gameplay gimmicks, distinct environmental challenges and generally larger sizes mean Call of Duty: Black Ops 7Maps are already an incision above Black Ops 6S, they really are not perfect. A big takeaway from playing Black Ops 7 Beta is that each map's visual design leaves something to be desired.
Most maps that are currently playable in Bo7 everyone is leaning into the futuristic aesthetics as seen in Black Ops 2and even seems to take some inspiration from Black Ops 3Environmental design. Cortex is home to large red test tubes, high -tech screens lines The exposure walls, and most buildings and structures over all maps have the same type of elegant, prefabric -like appearance.
On the one hand, this establishes a strong and consistent visual identity for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. But on the other hand, this repetition of architecture and landscape objects over maps can lead to some of them erasing in the mind. Weather conditions – like imprint's snowy environment – definitely helps to stop this problem, but there is a strong chance that it may end Black Ops 7Maps from reaching the heights on more visually fantastic maps such as terminal and Nuketown.
