Gamer turns the Nintendo 64 Controller into a working Game Boy Advance

A player has shared his project to fashion a Nintendo 64 controller for a working, independent game boy. The project sets all functionality for a real Game Boy Micro, the smallest version of a Game Boy Advance, in an N64 control unit, including a screen to play on.

Over the years, players and modds have come up with a wide range of unusual console modes, including things like the least WII system to exist, or create a game boy DS from a pokedex. With the permission of developments in technology over the years, many units can now be recalled with small components, which means that they can be repackaged in smaller enclosures.

Gamer creates the N64 Controller that acts as a game boy advance

In this new case, a Reddit user named Masakee built an original Green N64 to serve as a game boy micro. The unit actually works, with a rechargeable battery and a built -in screen. To build, Masakee created a small hole in front of the N64 control unit to place 2-inch Game Boy Micro screen. Unlike some MOD projects, this is made to actually use original GBA -Katridges. Masakee modified the N64 expansion port so it could play Game Boy Advance cartridges, which they chose to show with a photo of a Gastlevan Patron entered the control unit.

Further modifications of the device include the ability to turn on and turn off the unit with a switch on the expansion port, as well as a USB-C port and a headphone jack available on the back of the controller. There are some differences in control schemes and the number of buttons between the two units, so Masakee also made some changes to how the buttons on the N64 control unit work. The Z button on the back of the controller was converted to act as a Select button on the GBA, while the C buttons were recalled to control the volume and brightness of the screen.

A game boyhood

Posten has received significant attention and praise from society and has taken up almost 5,000 Upvotes at the time of publication. While some mods like these are undoubtedly impractical to use, if you were willing to play on Game Boy Micro's little screen, this would probably give a fun experience. Many Modders have previously shared their own mash-up mods that combine several Nintendo systems, so this will not be the last time players see a curious creation like this one.
