Borderlands 4 Is filled with pop culture references and Easter eggs that players will be pleasantly surprised to find in this high-octane-looter shooting experience. Although there are several side assignments in the game, you will not be able to help notice the Pokémon references in the one called The Wayward Gun.
The assignment will send players on an endeavor to hunt and catch sensitive rich walks, which will throw several Pokémon Easter eggs against players, that is, if you can catch them all!
How to Start “Wayward Gun” view in Borderlands 4
Players can unlock the wayward Gun Side assignment by completing Much to process, the fourth main mission in Borderlands 4. After the assignment is completed, players will be able to travel to the Termus Range region and reach the CUSPID Climb area.
After reaching a small settlement here called Dusk's Advent, players will hear an NPC called Emile who says: “I choose you, to save our A-.” This is the first nod for the Pokémon -Franchise players will hear after reaching the area. Talk to Emile so you can Start Wayward Gun Quest in Borderlands 4.
Shortly after accepting the assignment, the sensitive walking guns will bake in the area, and you have to take them down to develop the assignment. When the towers are down, Emile will pray the players Talk to Quartermaster “comfortable” with the name bash (Another reference to Pokémon's protagonist, Ash).
Meet Bash & Acquire Catch-Tainers
After meeting Bash at Quartermaster's Office, players will need to reach the ammunition dump nearby, which contains a special article that can help catch the sensitive hiking towers (you all know where this goes). So, go to the AMMO shed to further develop the assignment.
After reaching the AMMO shed, Bash will update the players as the building is locked up, and they must blast the generators that drive obstacles to get in.
There will be some towers here also that you should take down first before moving on. The first generator will be on top of the ammos shed with the barrier. Just push it off the ground to destroy it.
For the second generator you must Grapple up the building opposite the Ammo shed.
After reaching the building, they find the other generator inside. Simply shoot to blast it, and the Barrier for the AMMO shed will be disabled.
Now use Zipline to reach the Ammo shed and pick up catch tainers inside.
Catch Tediore Offsprings & Defeat the Bomb Group
After taking the range of catch-tainers, go to the site marked by the assignment marker. Here you have to Place the catch-tains in the appointed area And pick up one to start catching tediore offspring (the walking gun). Just throw the catch tain on the walking gun, so they will be captured (basically a reference to poke balls).
Once you have captured five of these wandering towers, you will be ambushed by the bomb squad (A clear nod to Team Rocket). After a nostalgic monologue, the Bomb Squad members Jake and Josey will drill out of the ground and start attacking you.
When defeated, players will have an option to either catch additional six tediore offspring or travel to rock bottom to proceed through the real gun side of Borderlands 4.
Defeat Pewpew & its army
After reaching the rock bottom, players must eliminate several hiking towers in the area. Once you have defeated a good bit of them, the assignment goal will change to “Battle Pewepew and his army.”
You must Grapple up to Gray havenage SafehouseAnd a mini-boss named Pew will play from the container. You must send Pew and his minions to further develop Wayward Gun Quest.
Thereafter, players will receive a radio transfer from the main hiking tower manager named Pewpew, which will be located in Gim, high up in the area. To reach Gim, players will need Return to Gray havenage Safehouse and use the container to climb upstairs. From here, perform a double jump and hover to close the gap and reach Gim.
After reaching Gim, you will meet Pewpew and his army. This area can be a bit tricky because you are shot from all directions. Make sure to find a safe place to shoot from and continue to defeat all the hiking towers in the area first.
After defeating the Pewpew manager, he will ask players to wipe his memory so that he can live in happy ignorance. So players will have to hack the terminal and restore the GIM core. By completing this goal, Wayward Gun Side Quest and the fun references end to Pokémon in Borderlands 4.
Players will receive a lot of rewardsIncluding a green to Lila Rarity Assault Rifle to complete this side mission, including “Loyal Customer” painting jobs for ECHO-4.
