Borderland 4 makes me realize how limited the fate 2 is really

I really had it Borderlands 4 since the launch, perhaps almost as much as the second hits of the year, as Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. I have been waiting to return to the world of Borderland for quite a long time, and although Small Tina's Wonderland was a nice little detour, it wasn't that kind of Borderland Games I longed for. Interestingly enough, even if it is Borderland in its core, Borderlands 4 Is actually completely different in many ways. In fact, it is actually much like one of my other favorite shooters for all the time, Destiny 2.

The similarities between Borderlands 4 and Destiny 2 are hard to ignore. In order to be fair, it makes sense why the gearbox wants to replicate certain parts of Destiny 2Because it is one of the best looter shooters on the market. But if there is something that plays Borderlands 4 have shown me, that's how limited Destiny 2 Although it is a live service game that is intended to continue indefinitely. Like an eager Destiny 2 Damn that has logged somewhere about 5,000 hours into MMO over platforms, it makes me sad to admit it Borderlands 4 actually do a lot of things right that Destiny 2 Has fallen in a long time now.

Borderland's 4 New Vault Hunter Experience feels like a struck for players

Explore without hindrance

Destiny 2 is a massive game with several different planets to explore, but somehow, Borderlands 4Cairos still feels bigger. I'm sure it is because Cairos is a seamless planet with very few charging screens, but even though I'm not greater than Destiny 2Total square mileage over planets, it still feels like it gives me more land to cover. The thing with Destiny 2Exploration is that although there is plenty of space, you are quite a lot guided along a linear path. IN Borderlands 4On the other hand, it feels like you are getting more freedom. I still love Destiny 2Art design, but the lack of verticality and free -fluid exploration feels even more evident after the time I have spent in Borderlands 4.

Rediscovering real building freedom

Then there is the incredible building variation of Borderlands 4Vault Hunters, who are both outstanding for the series and in some way get a leg up on Destiny 2. The last few years, Destiny 2 have tried to expand its place of building with additions as its prismatic subclass, but even then there are not close to as many different possible competence combinations as there are in Borderlands 4. It is refreshing to have so much freedom, and it makes me desire Destiny 2Buildcrafting felt this open.

Start fresh without confusion

Another thing that hits me is how easily accessible Borderlands 4 is, even if it is the fourth game in the series. I have been a big Borderland Damn from its humble beginning, so I don't necessarily need Borderlands 4 to be easily accessible. However, I can say how it would lower the entrance point for newcomers, as it does not rely on the series' past to establish its present and establish its future. However, I have seen new Destiny 2 Players get lost almost immediately, overwhelmed by Lore and content.

Borderlands September 4, 18 2025 Update

Every time I play Borderlands 4I like it thoroughly, but almost too much, to the point that I only notice how many deficiencies Destiny 2 Has – and the shortcomings I have already named are only a few. It's not that Destiny 2 have necessarily gotten worse, but more so that Borderlands 4 Just reminded me of what I really want from a game like it. In the end, it leaves me to wonder if Destiny 2 will ever open up in the same way.
