Fortune's Weave has fans of the series that jumps with joy

One of the more exciting announcements on today's Nintendo Direct was the disclosure of Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave, a new main line in the beloved Tactical RPG series.

Trailer's attitude was something that was reminiscent of Pax Romana in Roman Empire, with gladiatory attacks and political intrigues with sharply in the trailer. In an exciting conclusion, an adult version of the character Sothis from Fire Emblem appears: Three Houses appears and admonish the player for forgetting her.

Sothis is not bound by the same time rules as everyone else, so her older appearance does not necessarily mean Fortunes Weave takes place after three houses. This means that in spite of Sothi's appearance Fortunes Weave can still be a prequel or Sequel to three houses. But other clues such as the presence of the heroes' relics and weapons would suggest that the game is a sequel.

Mainstream fire emblems

No matter where Fortune's Weave fits in the timeline, the fans of the series are overjoyed by the announcement. A common feeling expressed in a thread about the announcement in the series' subreddit is how far Fire emblems have come during the last and half a decade.

Nintendo was about to cancel Fire Emblem completely in 2010, and now the series is considered to be enough to be the last announcement on the first Nintendo Directors of the Switch 2.

“There is no f ** king way they saved Fire emblem for last, let's go!” Writes the appropriately named Lucinadevotee. This was followed up by Chot11, which summarized the consensus of fandom elegant, “Oh, to live in times like these.”

“Incredible how just five games ago, the series was about to die,” comments Luck1492. “If you had gone back ten years back and told me that both Xenoblade and Fire emblem would be some of Nintendo's main franchise, I would have seen you as if you were angry. But here we are,” writes Druid_t.

The trailer names several of the characters we will see in Fortune's Weave and offers a lot about the coming game's attitude.

Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave will be released next year, but Nintendo has not yet confirmed a specific release date and will probably not be for some time.
