It may not officially fall a little anymore, but Disneyland and California's adventure started the autumn season with returning favorites and experiences, as well as some new additions in preparation for Halloween. Disneyland and California Adventure never shimmer when it comes to decor, and Halloween is no different. From Giant Oogie Boogie who talks to the guests who go in Esplanade to the massive flashing Mickey pump on top of Main Street, there are many details to get you in Halloween/autumn theme.
I can claim that California's adventure gets a little scary with its design And themes because of Oogie Boogie Bash, but both parks do a good job of mixing the playful with the scary. There is nothing here that I would call scary-it is everything family friendly when you walk around the parks-but the small details are what gives these seasonal overlay so much character. My personal favorite is California's adventure's headless rider, whose horse releases a neighbor now and then and drops some smoke from the nose.
Halloween Time Merch offers autumn style
Disneyland's autumn season brings a new selection of goodsFrom breaths to popcorn buckets and sips. There is a little for all this fall season, but some personal favorites include Victor Geist Haunted Mansion Sipper, a Halloween Mickey Magic Band+, lots of nightmare before Christmas items tied to Oogie Boogie Bash, and Plaza de Familia design is exceptional.
There is usually a central theme for the Halloween products in Disneyland, and this year it feels like they are going for a more classic look. It is a fantastic set of patterns with a little for everyone.
Tasty Halloween Treat's Highlight Disneyland's autumn season
A new season means new food and for me it is what I look forward to most. As you can expect, Autumn/Halloween menus on Disneyland and California adventure have lots of autumn flavors Like pumpkin and caramel, with some more adventurous items as well.
There are tasteful starters like Oogie Boogie Burrito and the haunted dog dog, and lots of candy such as monster funnel and pear cherry cheese crumbs. Some favorites from previous years also return, as the Bulgogi roasted cheese sandwich at Jolly Holiday, which comes with a delicious corn cheese soup for dipping; And the Mickey-shaped pumpkin salted Dulce Cream Puff at Rancho del Zocalo.
Disneyland Classics as Mickey-shaped Beignets and Harbor Galley Cookies also get their own seasonal iterations. When it comes to beignets, they are the fanfavite pumpkin-spiced Mickey Beignets, while Harbor Galley offers fresh baked pumpkin cookies with any cream cheese dip (for an extra charge).
If you are a fan of pumpkin spice, then There are many ways to experience the cinnamon and nutmeg-y combination. I was surprised by pumpkin spice bread sticks on the pizza plane, which paired well with caramel laser sauce. The Bulgogi roasted cheese is also excellent, as is most sandwiches on Jolly Holiday. And while the monster funnel cake was over the top, my 7-year-old was obsessed with the conglomeration of benefits. There are too many foods to try just one visit, but all I tried was delicious.

In Disneyland you see different clothes than in California's adventure, with a central theme or design sensitivity that unites each character's appearance. In Disneyland you have Mickey to look a bit like a magician, chip and Dale as superheroes and silly as a robot, for example.

For most rides, these Halloween variations do not change much about the core attraction, but it is a fun twist on some fan favorites.
In Disneyland, Haunted Mansion gets its regular Haunted Mansion Holiday Makeover, which Rethemes The Ride With Nightmare before Christmas. There are still some elements from the original trip that looks through, but if you are a fan of nightmare before Christmas you will not be disappointed. And while Haunted Mansion Holiday debuts in August for Halloween/Autumn, The overlay remains active until Januarydrive the debate about whether Nightmare before Christmas Is a Halloween or a Christmas movie.
The annual haunted mansion gingerbread design
Disneyland usually makes some changes in the haunted mansion experience every year, but the one that fans looks forward to the most is the gingerbread house in the dining room section. Every year, Disney Imagineers creates a massive gingerbread house that usually has some animatronic elements and some surprises for repeated riders. Everything is gathered by pumping in a gingerbread, which puts you in the holiday atmosphere.
For this year's house, Disney made a little unique and played in the abundance of crows that tend to circle the park in the evening. Last year's rotating Frankenstein display would be tough to top, so Disneyland went an unexpected route with something that will surely talk to the Disneyland fans.

Over at California Adventure you can enjoy a few different Halloween theme rides aimed at a wide range of ages. For the younger audience, Luigi's Honkin 'Halloween adds some Halloween music to the balletic journeyWhile Mater's Graveyard Jambooree is doing the same. Coolers Springs/Cars Land goes out when it comes to Halloween themes, from Mater and Lightning McQueen in suit to the cozy cones Sporting Jack O 'Lantern Faces. Even in California's adventure, guests can honor the spirit of Dia de Los Muertos through Pixar -animated film Coco With a storytelling experience with songs from the film, colorful costumes and fantastic Danish choreography. You can also meet Coco Marionette, which contains in the storytellers show, enjoy Mexican -inspired food, add a note on the memory wall and take part in some arts and crafts.
With a Coco Ride planned for California's adventure in a few years, Plaza de la Familia is a fantastic appetizer for the celebration and the experience. Southern California is full of Mexican inheritance, so it's only sensible to California's adventure to embrace that culture through Dia de los Muertos and Coco tie-ins. It is just one of many ways that Disneyland encompasses everything that makes the autumn season special.
Evening spectacular cuts an autumn visit to the parks
To end your night at Disneyland during the Halloween season, there are two nightly spectacular available on selected nights. Paint the night, the fantastic night parade that returned with the 70 anniversary, is still ongoing, and usually offers two showtimes – one before fireworks and one after. Disneyland has some incredible parades, but painting the night is a special fan favorite thanks to its elaborate spectacle and its smart nods to the Main Street Electrical Parade. If you will camp out for an excellent place for fireworks, you might as well take in color the night. You will not regret it.

Also try to place yourself so you can see Jack Skellington Orb on the left side of the castle (when you face it). There is something special about Disneyland-Fourverkets that you can't get anywhere else, and when the show is a hit as a Halloween scream, it's a must-see.
Oogie Boogie Bash offers something special for Halloween fans
It was not part of our media event, but Oogie Boogie Bash is a pillars in the Halloween season at California Adventure. This event after hours, separately ticketed events include meeting and greetings with some unique characters that you normally do not see in the parks as syndrome from Incredible and Agatha Harkess from Agatha all the time; Treat tracks where you can get some candy from designated places throughout the park; And the terrible fun parade with iconic characters with a scary slope.
For me, the best part of the event after the Disney-Maparken after hours is the lack of crowds in the park, which keeps the waiting times low and allows you to enjoy California's adventure in a more quiet environment. Halloween is my favorite holiday, and the Halloween time at Disneyland never disappoints. From the food to the product to the Halloween theme experiences, there is something to enjoy in every corner in the two southern California parks. Some will argue that christmastime is the best time to visit Disneyland, and there are some amazing things that happen for the holiday, including the haunted mansion. But for my money, Halloween/Fall really captures the magic in the theme parish atmosphere.
