Silent Hill F is below “much pressure” to hit Silent Hill 2 -Remake -quality

Silent Hill has had a very rocky in recent years, as Konami has made both successful and disastrous attempts to try to revive the series. For each Silent Hill 2 remake, there was a silent hill board or short message to pull the reputation of the series again. It has been extremely hit-and-miss for the series so far, but a game aiming for the former is the upcoming Silent Hill F.

Although there is concern about its fighting “soulslike” game (stop calling it that the developers do not like it), it still looks like it will be one of the more promising titles coming out of the Silent Hill series. It is also a good job, as those who make Silent Hill F feel the pressure to be the next game released immediately after Silent Hill 2 remake.

In an interview with PCGAMESN, serial producer Motoi Okamoto and Silent Hill F director Al-Yang were that Silent Hill 2 was so good that it is now considered “quality recruchmark” for the entire series, and that “all future titles, including Silent Hill F, are made to meet that quality award.”

It is a little high praise for Silent Hill 2, but given that it was one of the best games that were launched back in 2024, it would mean that there is a lot of pressure on those who are currently making new Silent Hill experiences. Thankfully, that pressure has not prevented the developers from being experimental, as we see with Silent Hill F.

“Although we definitely feel a lot of pressure to follow in the footsteps of the quality of Silent Hill 2, we also feel that we have to take some new steps to revive the series.”

It is nice to hear that Konami is worried about quality, although I feel as if it puts itself for a losing battle. Not every game will be as good as Silent Hill 2, and I don't really think that Silent Hill fans requires them. As long as we do not get another silent hill ascent level of disaster, I am pretty sure that most Silent Hill fans would be happy with a handful of pretty good play.
