What to do after hitting the horn in Hollow Knight

Relatively soon into Hollow knightPlayers will encounter the horn, needle -performing protagonist in the upcoming sequel Hollow Knight: Silksong. She will challenge the knight to test them, and after you beat the horn you will be rewarded with the Mothwing cap.

This ability gives the knight a line, which can be used to cover short distances on the ground or in the air. This opens much more of the game to explore, but it can be hard to know where to go after you beat the horn Hollow knight. Follow this guide for tips on what to do after hitting the horn in Hollow knight in his first appearance as a manager in Greenpath.

Find Quirrel at Unn -Sjön

Left from Hornet's Boss Arena

When you defeat the horn for the first time in Hollow knight And gather the Mothwing cap, the first thing you should do is continue to the left of her manager arena. Use your new line to travel a little faster, and after a short walk you will come to Lake Unn.

Go into the cabin at the bridge in Unn -sjön, and you will find a bench to rest on as well as Quirrel, a colleague who practices a nail. He is a friendly chap that carries a mask given to him by Dreamer Monomon as a hat. Talk to him here to start Quirrels NPC assignments.

Get Hunter's Journal to track enemies

Far to the right of Greenpath

If you did not pick it up on your way into Greenpath, get to the far right of the zone and find the hunter to get the Hunter's journal. This useful article opens up a kind of bestiary in the gaming menu, which shows information about every enemy you kill.

When you kill a necessary number of each enemy, you will reveal hidden information (or expanded Lore) about that enemy.

From Hornet's boss room, go right, then down, then all the way to the right to find the hunter's cave. Approach the cave, and the hunter will argue in an attempt to scare you. Continue forward and then talk to Giant Spider to get his diary.

Find the Queen's station

Between Fog Canyon & Fungal Wastes

Once you have beaten the horn, your next main goal should be to get Mantis Claw and continue to develop deeper into Hallownest. Go to Fog Canyon, which is under Greenpath and connects at the bottom right.

Release here and avoid beating the big jellyfish. When they meet, they will start at high speed towards you and explode for two credits' worthy injuries. Instead, you gently descend (and avoid touching them) until you reach the Queen's station area.

Open the stag station at the bottom left of the Queen's station to enable easier trips in the future.

Get Mantis Claw

In the village of Mantis during the mushroom waste

When you have unlocked Queen's Station Stag station, your next goal is to get Mantis Claw, which is in the village of Mantis. Like the Mothwing cap, Mantis Claw locks a new ability to move: the ability to jump up the walls.

From the Queen's station, go into the fungal waste via the upper right door and then get through the zone until you reach the entrance to Manti's village at the bottom right.

You don't have to kill Mantis Lords to get Mantis Claw – just go into the village and look in one of the huts on the left side of the first large room. This gives the knight the ability to reach several new areas, including the jumping puzzle on the right side of Queen's station, leading to a mask screen.

Find the tear town

From Manti's Village, go to the top right

The city tears were the center of the pale king's civilization, and once you have Mantis Claw you can get to its entrance. To get there from Manti's Village, go up until you go out via the top. Finish this room via the right right door, then go up until you enter the room above and see a giant statue next to a long hall.

Use Mantis Claw and jump gently through the spiny platform section leading up to the entrance to the city. Place the city's weapons in the statue in front of the gate and you will unlock the entrance.

Watch out – the gate is closed behind you when you enter City of Tears, so be sure to remove everything else you want to do outside the city, as you will not return for a short while.

Upgrade your nail

Lower to the left of the city

City of Tears is an ornate decorated, rain -grenade city that can be a somewhat confusing place to navigate. When you come in, your first goal should be to come to Stag station a few rooms above the corridor you entered in the beginning. Then sit down until you reach the bottom of the city.

When you see water at the bottom, go to the left until you see a character in the form of a giant nail. This is a call card for a nail smith, and there is actually a nail mith in the room just to the left of this sign.

Find the nail smith in his hut at the bottom left of the city with tears and talk to him. The first nail upgrade costs 250 GEO and almost doubles your injury. After that, you will need more and more Geo and a material called Pale Malm to continue upgrading your weapon damage.

Buy a simple key and lantern from sly

In Dirtmouth – 2750 GEO Total

The last thing you should do after hitting the horn in Hollow knight is to go back to Dirtmouth and buy two articles from Sly: The Simple Key and Lumafly Lantern.

  • The simple key is required to get into Royal Waterways, which is a place you can go to after the city.

  • The Lumafly Lantern is necessary to see in extremely dark areas, such as the entrance to Crysalt Peak or the entire Deepnest zone.

Both of these articles together will put you back a lot of GEO. The simple key costs 950 GEO, while Lumafly Lantern costs 1800 GEO.

One way you can get geo quickly is to sell your collected relics to Relic Seeker LEMM (Wanders magazines, hallownest seals, etc.). LEMM will give hundreds of Geo for these objects, so remember to get off the beaten path every now and then so you can chase these valuable objects.

Relic Seeker Lemm's proximity to the Nailsmith makes relics an easy way to quickly provide nail upgrades – as long as you have enough pale ore as well.
