Marvel Rivals Can introduce an original character to its growing lineup of heroes and villains in the future, which was revealed in a new report. Such creative freedom could further strengthen the content damage in Marvel RivalsWhich has expanded its list of some new additions every season until now.
Since we met the land in December 2024, Marvel Rivals has continued to attract a strong number of daily users, partly thanks to new characters added at regular intervals. While they were in Season 1, players entered the shoes on Fantastic Four, the second season gathered Ultron and Emma Frost. Recently, the ongoing season 3 fan favorite introduced Marvel characters, such as Blade and Phoenix, to their players. With reports of original characters who also joined the battle eventually, the coming Marvel Rivals Content drops can mark a refreshing change.
Netease can bring original heroes to marvel rivals and do something unique
Marvel Rivals Creative director Guangyun Chen confirmed that Netease “was allowed to introduce original characters” in the Hero Shooter title per MP1st. In other words, the studio can make their own heroes for the game from scratch and must not compulsorily adhere to what has already been established in Marvel's Universe. On the question Marvel Rivals Team had already worked with an original character, he did not offer a direct answer but said briefly: “Stay up to date.” Although this may not guarantee anything, it indicates that more information in this regard may be excluded at some point in the future.
Although the current strategy for adapting characters from the existing Marvel Lore has worked well, the creative freedom to experiment with new characters has created specifically for Marvel Rivals Promises to open a whole new dimension of opportunities. The introduction of original characters can give unique value to the game and stimulate more Marvel fans to check out these heroes who have not appeared in any Marvel IP before. In addition, it can also make Roster extensions more unpredictable, as players would not really know what kind of abilities they can expect from an original character in advance. But given the long list of fan favorite heroes that are not yet in the game, it may be reasonable to expect Netease to get the popular names on board before it goes to create new characters.
Back in February, Marvel Rivals revealed that it is here to stay for a long time, with Netease who undertakes at least 10 years of support for the game. Exciting, in the near future, Marvel enthusiasts looks to get another game that sees a long-term driving, with Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls Confirmed to receive support far into the next consolentation.
