This list will contain spoilers.

Summary

  • Sengoku & Whitebeard had a long -lasting rivalry based on equal strength and mutual respect.

  • Rob Lucci & Luffy's rivalry increased after Luci's defeat in the Enies lobby and continued on Egghead Island.

  • Smokers & Luffy share a complex rivalry with respect, moral dilemma and consistent attempts to capture Luffy.

While marine soldiers and pirates in the world of A bit are black enemies, throughout the series there have been special sets of individuals on both sides that have stopped forming bitter rivalry with each other. For the most part, this comes as a result of the two characters being approximately equal, which makes them jump into another battle as soon as possible to test their abilities against each other to one day come out as the victory.

On the other hand, a rivalry may come if one of these characters manages to humiliate the other on more than one occasion, which creates a warm -blooded feud in the process; Of which some have lasted for several decades. Everyone knows, for example, rivalries shared between pirates, such as Zoro and Sanji, but it is time to look at pirates and marine soldiers who have also come to form a competitive band during the race A bit story.

Sengoku & Whitebeard

It is suggested that these two would always go on it when they were in top performance

When Whitebeard goes to Marineford in a desperate attempt to save his crew member Ace from being executed, he specifically mentions Sengoku by name after discovering him at a distance. Throughout the brutal conflict, they share the two many interactions where it is strongly understood that they have been rivals for quite a number of years. This is meaningful, considering that Whitebeard would have been at the top of his performance at about the same time as Sengoku became Fleet Admiral, because at this time he would have dissolved from stones and formed his own crew.

For this, the two are also extremely powerful, with Whitebeard that can cause whole earthquakes with a single punch, and Sengoku has the strength of the Almighty Buddha thanks to his unique Zoan fruit. Unfortunately, ODA has not shown too much about this rivalry since the Marineford ended, but it has not prevented the fans from theorizing how the epic battles between these two would have been back in their heyday.

Rob Lucci & Luffy

The CPO-10-agent will never live down his defeat in the enies lobby

Luffy and Rob Lucci first meet each other in water 7, where the latter of the two humiliate Straw Hat captain so he can continue with his mission to kidnap Robin. However, Luffy is not the type of captain who will sit back and relax if he knows that one of his Nakama is in danger, and after learning his Gear 3 and Gear 2 technician he can finally stand his ground against Luci in a dramatic final battle where he ends up with the overwhelming CP-10 agent.

However, this would not be the last time these two bumped into each other, as Luci again returned on Egghead Island to confront his long -term nemesis and hopefully get a victory over him. Given that Luffy had already brought its Gear Five mode at this point in the story, it was difficult for Luci to deal with any form of significant damage to the difficult pirate, with this fun rivalry that continued to this day as well.

Smokers & Luffy

Smokers just can't think catching luffy no matter how hard he is trying

Smokers are a fairly unique navy in the series, because he understands that chasing Pirates is greater, he is often in moral dilemma when he sees them act much more responsible than the marinas. All this began in Alabasta when Luffy and his crew took on defeating crocodile to free the country, just because the marines would tell smokers that they would be the ones who should receive all credit.

A similar scenario happens much later in punk risk, where smokers are once again at a crossroads about whether he should catch Luffy or let him destroy Caesar Clown's evil experiment. This has led to an interesting rivalry where the two parts a deep respect for each other, but are still aware that they are black enemies. It would definitely be nice to see this relationship expanded more in the future, given that it has only been shown briefly in a few stories, but it is definitely one that ODA could do a lot if smokers would make a big return in the last story.

Tashigi & Zoro

Two talented sword problems that are desperate after proving their value

On the surface, it is very meaningful that Tashigi and Zoro would end up on more than a few occasions, given that they are both very talented sword users, but there is actually a deeper reason why this rivalry was formed in the first place. Tashigi shares a striking resemblance to Kuina, Zoro's childhood friend, who unfortunately died at a young age due to a tragic accident. When Zoro first discovered Tashigi back in Alabasta, he noticed this immediately and was anxious to collide swords with the marinas to test his strength.

Since then, the two have bumped their heads when they have a chance to see each other again, to the point where it seems that they are more busy doing a victory rather than having any intention to kill. Although it is clear that Zoro is much more powerful than Tashigi, especially now that he is in possession of swords as enma, it is also obvious that he wants Tashigi to also be a strong warrior, which results in one of the most captivating pirate and marina rival in the series.

Koby & Luffy

Childhood friends who took very different ways in life

The rivalry between Koby and Luffy is one that has been brewed since the very first episode. Luffy was completely prepared to go into his adventure as a pirate then, but Kobe still had a very long way to go until he could serve the title Marine, but thanks to a little brutal training under Garp, he was able to rise the ranger fairly quickly while Luffy still collected his crew members.

As life -long friends, Luffy and Kobe always push each other to strive to be the best, even though they are directly opposite because of their connections. It is a real treatment for long -lasting fans to see how far these two have come since the early sections, and the fact that they still think about each other and look at rivals is a real proof of their lasting friendship that can never be broken, even though they decided to drastically different life paths.

Garp & Roger

Legendary rivals that came to deeply respect each other

Back when Pirate King Gol D. Roger was still alive and kicked, was the only navy that had any chance to even stand up against him Garp. Although the absurd strong navy could hear Roger on more than a few occasions, the legendary pirate always managed to escape, which resulted in the two succumbing it many times during Roger's adventure to reach one piece. But while Garp was deadly at catching Roger, he also made the decision to cooperate with him once on good Valley to defeat Rocks Pirates, which proved that he was also fully conscious and respectful of Roger's real strength.

Near the end of his life, Roger would even entrust Garp to take care of his son ESS, and emphasized that although these two can be rivals when it comes to their power and strength, they do not hate exactly each other as a navy and a pirate should. This is one of the rivalries that fans are eager to learn more about, given that these are two of the strongest and most fascinating characters in all A bitSo it is always a joy to be able to see flashes of these two back in their heyday that interact with each other, whether they exchange blows or just share a relaxed conversation about their views on the world's current state.
