Xbox owners cannot play most of the 10 best-examined games of all time

Summary

  • When it comes to gaming publishers, Xbox has one of its most stacked years at a time.

  • Even with such a massive library, it turns out that Xbox players do not have access to many of the highest audited games.

  • Nintendo is technically smaller, but it is not so surprising considering that it is the focus on the first score titles.

Although Xbox has one of the most easily accessible libraries thanks to Game Pass, it still cannot play several of the best -examined games of all time.

Towards the beginning of the year, it began to seriously look like 2025 can finally be Xbox's chance to shine. The back-to-back editions of games such as Avained, Oblivion Remastered and South of Midnight all positioned Xbox to make a big comeback and finally be taken seriously with Playstation and Nintendo.

Although it is true that Xbox has continued to release fantastic games (with even more exciting on the horizon), it still has not really made a tooth compared to the competition. In fact, taking a look at OpenCritic's highest audited games through the ages reveals that everyone who owns an Xbox misses some big heavy meetings.

Xbox owners currently have no way to play nearly half of the highest audited games of all time

Playstation and Switch are much better in terms of critically acclaimed titles

Now that we are halfway through the year, I thought it was time to check in at OpenCritic's highest audited games of all time to see if there have been any changes thanks to Donkey Kong Bananza and Clair Obscur: Expedition 3. Strangely enough, the tide has not shifted so much, even if the current place reveals an interest.

Based on OpenCritic's list of best-examined games through the ages, it seems that Xbox owners may have a disadvantage. Only four of the games on the list can be played on an Xbox system. These games include Baldur's Gate 3, Red Dead Redemption 2, the Elden Ring and Grand Theft Auto 4. Noteworthy is none of these games.

On the other hand, Playstation owners have access to six of the highest-reviewed games of all time. Interestingly, Nintendo has the smallest playable games on the list with only three, but everyone is exclusive. Until Switch 2, Nintendo has not really made many gates, so it is a little less surprising than Xbox.

All in all, it seems that all players who want to play so many of the best -examined games are best to play at Playstation. There is a chance that these numbers will change if Sony ever starts to share some of their biggest games, but don't expect it to happen soon.
