Ready or not is undoubtedly one of the most popular Tactical FPS games on PC. The game, developed by Ireland-based Studio Void Interactive, is a spiritual successor of sorting to Sierras now dormant SWAT franchise. As the games that were inspired by, Ready or not Puts players in the shoes from SWAT police who have to deal with moral hugs as they try to expel dangerous crime scenarios. Because it emphasizes realism and is not afraid to explore disturbing subjects, Ready or not is probably one of the darkest video games that is not horror out there. Honestly, in the modern game landscape, there is nothing else like that.
After being exclusive to PC for several years, Ready or not Finally, Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on July 15, 2025. Although early reviews of these console gates indicate that they are quite high quality, the excitement of their release has been muted because of a large controversy regarding the recent game. Void interactive revealed at the end of June that it had censored certain parts of Ready or not To make it easier for the game to get to home consoles. Ready or does not release major update for July 2025
Ready or not releasing a major update for the PC edition and introduces several remarkable functions in the middle of the ongoing censorship accounts.
Ready or Note's latest censorship has met with a lot of backlash
Ready or has not been reviewed bombed on steam because of the censorship account
Not so long ago, Ready or not Had very positive reviews on Steam, but in recent weeks usage for the game has taken a nosediv. At present, the game has only 79% mostly positive points at Valves PC store, partly because only 23% of their new reviews are positive. Most of the recent steam user reviews are very critical of the censorship changes that have been made to Ready or notNot only because they probably compromise its creative vision, but also because they are retroactively added to the game's PC port, although the censorship was intended specifically for the game's console versions.
Void interactive declared that it decided to censor the PC version of Ready or notTogether with the launch of the game's console gates, as it wanted full parity over all platforms.
Void Interactive has censored six things in the new version of Ready or not
In spite of all the rebellion of censorship, the current version of Ready or not does not differ from their older counterparts. Void Interactive revealed in a post on Steam that it has only made six visual changes in the game. One of these changes, for example, can be seen in Twisted Nerve Mission, where a young girl who was previously depicted as cramping now turns out to be sleeping. In another assignment called 23 megabytes for a second, in the meantime, a “photo of underage” objective model has changed so that according to Void Interactive words it can “better connect storytelling to the latter Sinuous Trail assignment.”
Unlike the two above mentioned examples, the other four cases of censorship in Ready or not In general, nudity and violence are related. In three of the game's mission (a deadly obsession, hide and search and anesthesia), nudity involving some hostages and suspects has now been censored. In addition, throughout the game, players can no longer remove dead bodies. Although degradation is still in Ready or notIt can only be done on living enemies, not equal.
Despite Void Interactive's attempt to clarify the reasoning for the censorship, players are still not happy
Void Interactive has insisted on the changes it made on Ready or not Does not affect the realistic tone or the overall quality of the game. Although the company has said that it is still committed to maintaining its creative freedom, it made the difficult decision to censor parts of the game to follow platform holders and age grades, but “only to the regulation-not anymore.” In spite of Void Interactive's attempt to explain Ready or notSituation, many players are still dissatisfied with the company's actions, with some who express a refusal to tolerate all levels of censorship, no matter what. Ready or not Can still be a good game in its core, but it seems that the discussions about this controversy will not end anytime soon.
