People love anime for its complex main characters and unconventional heroes. These can be brave, interesting or beautiful characters with incredible powers and talents, but that does not mean that they have qualities that viewers should admire and emulate.

It's fun to look at a ruthless but talented protagonist defeat the enemy and get what they want, despite the huge chip they have on the shoulder. Everyone likes an uncompromising character that occurs as if they have nothing to lose.

Ichigo Kurosaki, bleach

A typical bad boy

It is ironic that Ichigo, who also goes by the nickname Bleach because of his unique hair color, is such a delightful character while being a typical rebel teenager. He is quite sympathetic, gets teased for his hair and defends his younger sister from bullies and quietly manages with a mysterious force that allows him to see the ghosts.

When bleach is recruited in the life of a soul streamer, his rough attitude has isolated him socially, so joining a secret occult society seems like a natural next step anyway. It is partly because of his Steely and Snide construction that Ichigo can survive and thrive while chasing holes, but that does not mean that he is a good role model.

A forced player

All types of anime take place in themes schools, often where upper -class students board for the semester, and the setting in Kakegurui is focused on games. In addition to using conventional money, students can also invest in their lives and time, which urges a slave class to show up that has played their lives away while playing the “experts” who make up the student council.

This is where the protagonist Yumeko shows up, and she is not motivated by money without the excitement to win, which means she cannot be threatened or intimidated like the other students. In fact, she loses strategically on several points to reveal the student council's players as cheaters, or to set up their opponents for even more devastating failures in the future. It is satisfactory to see Yumeko come for these self -sufficient upper class students, but she has her own questions, and the efforts are more personal when she plays.

Afro, Afro Samurai

Consumed by revenge

It is exciting to look at the deadly protagonist in Afro Samurai Disc through village and city to reach the number 1 pan band, but under all this is a story about personal tragedy and loss that reduced a human to a dark and determined revenge spirit. Part of the reason why Afro is such an effective fighter is that he does not want revenge against the person who took the headband from his father.

It sounds like a description of a liberated and untouchable badass, but it is a life with loneliness without other emotions, and Afro seems to suffer from PTSD and depression as opposed to being just Stoic. He even rejects the few childhood friends who survived to adulthood, or they blame him and seek revenge, which makes a big story but not a good role model.

At first glance, Yagami Light is the person who everyone wants to be: model student, favorite son and future leader. It may have stopped so if Ryuk had not lost the death note on the lawn at his school, where only any passing person could pick it up and use it.

However, it falls into exactly the wrong hands, and the light begins to use its powers of intellect and charm to hurt that are disguised as good. The power he has given to warp him to a god -like ruler that can judge anyone, which makes him one of the most dangerous and deviant people alive.

It is easy to be sympathetic against Edward Elric at first, because he is just a child who wants his dead mother back. She is always late, gets terrible brands and spends more time on the arcade than studying or working, but part of history is how this one -dimensional child changes to a superhero.

Except she doesn't, at least not for any seasons, and without a tuxedo and her friends backing her up, is the usagi type of useless. She can be a role model in the sense that she is a kind -hearted person who always stands with the people she cares about, and her discoveries that a difficult child is quite fun, but it is not role model material.
