Switch 2 Gaming Affairs Warning to Players After being banned because of “a bad actor”

Nintendo takes no prisoners when it comes to piracy with Switch 2, although it means catching legitimate players in Crossfire.

As reported by Metro, a user was banned after inserting a used game in their console, limited them from using Eshop and downloading some of their owned games. Thankfully, customer support was extremely helpful in getting them unannounced after they provided screenshots of the Facebook marketplace list where they bought the patron.

“Be careful about buying used Switch 1 games,” warned U/Dmanthey. “You may be banned if a bad actor dumped it. With that said, the Nintendo support is fantastic and helps you get started again.”

The used switch market only became much risky

Last month, it was revealed that Nintendo was cracking to MIG. These are empty, switch compatible cartridges that players can dump their legitimately owned games, while using them to switch between titles without having to finage between drawers. But they are also used to store and play pirated copies of games. As such, Nintendo has taken a hard attitude toward all Me -cartridges, murder consoles if discovered.

It seems that U/DMANTHEY was directed because the person who sold their games on the Facebook market had dumped them on a pre -present so they could make some money while they held a copy. Since Nintendo discovered that the same version of the game was played on two consoles at once, a ban was automatically released.

Customer support told you/Dmanthey that they can now use the cartridge and even sell it if they choose it.

This presents a pretty big question for the used market, as it turns each purchase into a game – if someone has stored the game you can meet a ban. Several commentators report similar situations, with U/IFYSHIPSIRL even being banned after borrowing a game from the library, which someone had clearly copied me.

Customer support regrets these prohibitions fairly quickly, so your console will not be permanently walled if you buy a cartridge from a bad actor, but it still makes resale more risky than ever.
