A player shared his shocking discovery that their Nintendo 3DS The case, which was completely new and sealed in its box, was broken down into dust. The strange Nintendo 3DS discovery has an explanation, but it is still surprising to see.
While the Nintendo system has a reputation for being quite resistant, it was considered to put a case on a 3DS to be wise. A case can help protect the unit from the impact, such as falling on the ground, and also allowed players to adapt their 3DS without changing the original finish. However, it seems that some fans may want to control their 3DS cases, if this situation is any indication.

Nintendo Switch Games Survive House Fire
An owner of Nintendo Switch shares how their collection of Switch play cartridges incredibly survived an unfortunate fire accident.
A player named Randolph Co (via Nintendosoup) showed a Dragon Quest 8 New Nintendo 3DS case they had kept in storage, sealed in their original box. The player was shocked to discover that even though he was sealed and probably stored in a safe place, the case itself had completely dissolved in dust in the package. A photo shows that the packaging itself is in normal condition, but the inside of it looks like it is full of crumbs. The original design was white with blue, green and brown mucus dotted it, but all color has also been completely lost.
What happened to this Nintendo 3DS case?
Although the original owner did not give any explanation, it is likely that the case material was simply not meant to last for so long. The box indicates that the product was made of TPU, or thermoplastic polyurethane, which is considered a biodegradable substance. The material can usually be expected to break down for three to five years. This special Nintendo 3DS case was launched as early as 2015, a decade ago, so it is far past the window for the opportunity to break down.
Although biodegradable plastic is usually seen as a good thing, it is unfortunate that what would otherwise have been an untouched gaming memorabilia is no longer. Probably this fall style was manufactured with the intention that the owners did not use their Nintendo 3DS for more than a few years, or that the case itself would be abused and discarded or recycled as a result. Not every Nintendo 3DS case was made of this material, so some players are probably intact, but fans may want to check out their own gaming units just to be on the safe side. Given that Nintendo 3DS was launched in 2011, there may be many more cases that have been broken like this.
