Rematch Developers at Sloclap have shared more information about the promised tournament location system that will come in the near future. Launched on June 19, RematchS Release was a huge success that gathered over 92,000 players within the first day. Although hype has died a bit since then, the football title has already carved a niche for itself and a steadily growing society.
On Launch Day, Sloclap developer published a blog post that discussed what comes next for Rematch. In it discussed the plans for implementation of crossplay, improvements in games, bug fixes, additional social components, relaxed game updates and new competition features coming soon. Crossplay to Rematch was considered to be the highest priority, but the post revealed that the work is already underway for several other systems, including a tournament mode, player clubs and a top list for elite players.

In an interview with PC Gamer, co -founders and CEO of Sloclap Pierre Tarno confirmed that tournament mode is expected to be the first major competition committee to Omatch. According to Tarno, tournaments will mainly planned events, with various efforts from the usual ranked matches in Rematch. Participation will be flexible, with players who have the opportunity to either invite friends to form a team or use matchmaking to play with others. Although it is unclear if the matchmaking will be random or MMR-based, it seems later more likely.
Sloclap reveals details about Rematch's tournament mode
Tarno also revealed that tournaments are expected to last about two hours, although he did not go into the information on what the exact format would look like. Given Rematch Standard match length of 6 minutes and reports a 1-minute gap between matches for players to clear up, it can be speculated that each tournament will involve 16 teams in a one-elimination console. If it is a double-elimination format, with a winner and losing console, there will probably be 8 teams per tournament instead.
In addition to tournament mode, Pierre also shared some details about club creation, Rematch version of guilder or clans. Instead of using generic logos and custom names for clubs, Rematch Will inspire real football clubs and give players the opportunity to base their clubs in the game around real places. “The idea is to establish it in that type of reality of actual real places, real places, real cities because it is a very important part of football fanas,” Tarno explained and emphasized Rematch Focus on creating an engrossing football experience. Despite this, players will not be limited by where they currently live when choosing their club's place and leave the door open to online, community -driven teams. As I said, however, Tarno made it very clear that this feature is still “really further down the line.”
Tournaments are an excellent first step towards improving the title's existing gameplay loop, as they will give players another taste of competitive matchmaking to look forward to. Then Rematch Is not free to play, but its player base can be a limiting factor for the new game mode, as it is almost impossible to achieve the new game mode, as 80 players in a single tournament are about the same skill level almost impossible to achieve without a sufficiently large player pool.
