It seems that Assassin's Creed Hexe, the next AC game with the main line, will center on – you guessed it – a revenge story that was put during the witch trials.

The idea that the franchise will have another revenge plot already has fans that roll their eyes, and we cannot blame them.
Although we will probably not play Assassin's Creed Hexe until potentially 2027, it seems that we now have our first plot information about the next main line Assassin's Creed title, and let's just say, you have probably heard these stories before.
As shared on Twitter by an alleged Ubisoft partner, Bunythevillain, on Twitter, Hexe will contain a “dark and haunting tone”, where Elsa, who will be the main character of the game, is on her way after revenge for her mother, who was executed during the witch attempts.

From a single trailer alone, I am already more invested in ATSU's pursuit of revenge.
As early as 2024, it was shared by insider games that the protagonist would really be called Elsa, and that she would have access to some form of supernatural forces. That these forces and her motivation have to do with witch attempts seem quite likely. Either way, the idea that it is yet another revenge history has fans that roll their eyes, and the game has not even come out yet.
It is not Assassin's Creed or Ubisoft without revenge plot, it seems

Whether it is as far back as Ezio or as recently as Naoe, Assassin's Creed Games has largely presented a kind of revenge theme, which makes the outlook a similar plotline a little nausea to think about.
“Let me guess and there will be like 12 members who work in the order that you have to kill one by one, and you probably discover clues along the way that help you track that member to revenge,” wrote another user and pointed to Franchiseen's gameplay loop.
“Ubisoft and revenge are like Bethesda and you're a prisoner,” wrote a person. Ouch. It hurts because it is so correct. If there is any consolation, we will seem to play a black flag remake only before hexe, so there will at least be a break in revenge.
