Begginr's tips and tricks for Assassin's Creed shadows

Assassin's Creed Shadows finally takes the franchise to Japan, something that many fans of the series have been waiting for several years. Here you can travel through the country with Naoe for a more killer-like experience or with Yasuke for a more combat-focused experience.

Either way, expect a big world to explore, several goals to kill in battle or through murder, lots of animals to pets and many skills to learn for each character. With that in mind, here are some tips you should watch out for based on our experience with the game. Don't worry, there will be no spoilers here.

Improve your murder skills

Let your hidden leaves shine

As the name of the series suggests is to murder people a big deal here. Thus, we recommend that you use your Mastery Points to unlock murder skills for NAOE as soon as you can so you can easily eliminate most enemies. Yasuke does not trust his murder skills as much, but he also has them, and they are practical.

You can switch an alternative where murder of someone is an immediate death, as in older games, but the upgrades are fast enough because this is not necessary. Unlike items like Odyssey, shadows actually found a good middle ground between murder that killed people directly while they have some characters survive it.

Improve your Kunai too. You need them for long -term murders.

Be careful with who you are trying to murder

Some enemies are being built differently

As mentioned, the game has a good balance in who you can and cannot murder, and it is not only related to your murder abilities, tool statistics and their health bar. Some enemies are more aware of their surroundings than others, so you have to keep up with it.

For example, if a samurai has its guard, you cannot murder them from the front, even if you hide in the grass and they came close, while others demand striking from above to murder properly.

When the “murder” prompt emerges, if the font is written in red, it means that the enemy will block your attempt to kill them. If it is yellow, it means that your murderer will hurt but not kill them.

Use the darkness

It's called Assassin's Creed Shadows for a reason

An interesting mechanic that this game has compared to older games is how you can play with light. By extinguishing flames or even bumping them, you can create large dark areas, which makes things much easier for stealth.

In fact, if you are throughout the darkness, you can even approach an enemy from the front and murder them without seeing you. And thanks to Eagle Vision, things can be clear as day for you when you chase them.

Equip a Tanto for Naoe

For double death

One more thing about murder: Your weapons are important. Each character may have two weapons equipped at a time, and even if you should choose your weapons based on your preferences, we recommend that you give one of Naoe's weapons places to a tanto.

With a tanto equipped, she can use it to perform double murder (as long as you also have the property unlocked) and take two people at once. As an extra tip, we also recommend a cousin for her as it can kill many people while staying safe.

For quick trips

As usual in the series, you can use comments to quickly travel over the map. That said, because of how these places work, most high points in cities are also limited areas, as they tend to be castle of important people who do not appreciate your presence there.

Instead of giving yourself the headaches of quick trips to a place where people want to kill you (not to mention some of these places is literally annoying to leave because of size and layout), you can instead use Kakureega, which are hiding places for you and your speids. Unlocking one costs money, but agricultural money in the game is easy.

Manage your speids

They can do a lot

The speids you get in this game are very helpful, as they can help track mission goals on the map and smuggle objects from enemy bases back to your base.

That said, you don't start with many of them, so you have to handle them properly. They are only restored when the season changes, but you can also go to a Kakuruga and refill your speids at a price – which is not expensive. You can increase your number of speings by upgrading your main hiding place, and you can also force seasonal changes to restore the speids for free.

Be attentive to civilians

They hit a lot

When you explore, you will notice a lot of scraps around you, especially in large cities. If you pay attention to what they say (you can activate subtitles to help), you will notice that they actually provide very useful information.

They talk about things that happen over the map, and you can even directly talk to some, which will give you rumors that contain further information or side issues.

Explore the world with naoe

She is better at traversal

Our main person's skills are different. While Yasuke can do a little traversal, he does not stand out on it. He can only climb on some things and especially things he can reach – which he granted can reach many places thanks to his height.

Yet he lacks the parkour competence that Naoe has, as well as a gripping hook. This means that she will climb faster and also come to places Yasuke is simply unable. It is better to explore the map with her and switch to Yasuke if needed than the other way around, as you need her more often.

NAOE also has access to Eagle Vision, which allows you to find goals much faster. This even includes shrines and lost sides, as well as Daimyos to kill in limited areas.

Focus on temples and shrines

Improve your knowledge

Despite the conditions of action, shadows include many calmer areas, such as temples and shrines. You also have a quieter mini -game, such as Naoe's meditation and Yasuke's training, which mainly acts as fast events.

Yet these are all necessary for your characters, as they get you the knowledge points required to gain stronger skills in the game, and you need many knowledge points to get them. Thus, it can ignore the aforementioned activities make your character considerably weaker.

Some places do not provide any significant reward, and they are simply marked with a diamond icon on the map. Nevertheless, they can offer resources to upgrade your equipment and hiding place.

No matter how small and simple the area is, they are worth investigating so that you can improve your things. And hey, you can only get Yasuke, barge in and kill everyone quickly.
