Although most of these changes do not seem to have caused so much impact yet, it was a rumored change that worried many fans. Almost two weeks ago, it was reported that Final Fantasy 14's producer and director, Naoki Yoshida, was no longer listed in Square Enix's board, which caused some concerns about his future.
Don't worry, Yoshi-P doesn't leave Square Enix
Since the small detail was first discovered a few weeks ago, Final Fantasy 14 fans have been waiting for an official comment from Yoshida about his position on Square Enix. As reported by the PCGAMSN, that is exactly what we got in the pre-show for Final Fantasy 14 Live Letter 86, where Yoshi-P set the record straight.
Which was translated by Final Fantasy 14 Discord user Iluna Minori, Yoshida talked to community producer Toshio Murouchi during livestream pre-show, where the subject of his board lined up. Yoshi-P says that his title will be changed from director to the CEO sometime this year, but that it will not be a big change for him.
Obviously, some people misunderstand that Yoshi-P is no longer an CEO of Square Enix and such. But there is actually no change. If something is just a certain change in roles and so on. Yoshi-P's position is untouched. – Iluna Minori
Minori says Yoshida confirmed that there is “actually no change” and that it is really just a change in roles, with Yoshi-P's position as “untouched” outside the name Switch. According to minority, Yoshi-P laughed at people made up the idea that he didn't want to become an executive anymore, but that he will do his best to just continue to deliver “fun games”.
Although it is still a bit unclear why Yoshida's name even changes if there is no real impact on his role, at least it is comforting to know that he is not coming anywhere and has not encountered any kind of problem on Square Enix. Here it is hope that this is the last time we have to worry about the whole situation.
