First popularized by Boba Fett's appearance in The Empire strikes backThe Mandalorians are among the most iconic groups of bounty hunters in all of media. Easily identifiable by their Beskar armor, helmets, and massive jetpacks, the Mandalorians have been present in almost every Star Wars-related show, game or movie in any form or other.
In fact, the most famous bounty hunter may actually be Mandoalso known as Din Djarin, the main character of the TV series The Mandalorianand co-leader of the recently released The Mandalorian and Grogu. The titular Mandalorian is truly an exceptional character, and one of the coldest bounty hunters ever to grace the screen.
That said, video games have also been home to a large number of interesting bounty hunters, with many cementing their place as iconic in their own right. While there may be many to choose from, these nine stand out as the coolest of them all.

Geralt (The Witcher series)
Monsters are not the only target
Even if Geralt would scoff at someone who called him a bounty hunter, he clearly fits the definition The Witcher game. A Witcher by trade, he takes on quests to hunt monsters and break curses for coins. Even beyond monster contracts, Geralt has engaged in taking down human enemies, especially in the games.
Where the book version of Geralt would try to avoid taking on missions that would explicitly involve killing people, the game version of Geralt plays a little more loosely with this rule. Many quests available to Geralt involve hunting, killing or putting an end to people, with Geralt taking down witch hunters or even bandits along the way.
Geralt maintains his stoic attitude and calm demeanor during these contracts, even when confronted with uncomfortable circumstances. If Geralt says he's come to kill monsters, the villains nearby better hope he doesn't mean them.
Urdnot Wrex (Mass Effect Series)
A living legend among a dwindling population
You can count Krogan off Mass effect universe on a short list of the scariest organic species you could ever encounter. They are extremely durable thanks to their redundant organs, secondary nervous system, nutrient hump, and thick armored hides, and their aggressive nature and tenacious attitudes make them perfect for the bounty hunter profession.
If a normal Krogan is terrifying on their own, Battlemasters are Krogan with biotic abilities, meaning they can basically use magic in addition to their physical advantages. Among the krogans, few have as much power or as much respect as Urdnot Wrexa Battlemaster whose skill with a shotgun is only matched by his wit.
IN Mass effectCommander Shepard meets Wrex when both want to stop the gang leader known as Fist. If Wrex is in your party, make quick work of Fist and shoot him down before any conversation takes place. This is the kind of no-nonsense attitude you'd expect from one of the most notorious bounty hunters in Citadel space.
Stranger (Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath)
Hunter became the protector
As the name of the video game Oddworld: Stranger's Wraththe Stranger is a prize-hunting steed, and possibly the very last of its kind. While the image of a bounty hunter often conjures up thoughts of swords and guns, the Stranger uses a crossbow that fires creatures rather than arrows to bring down his targets.
The Stranger is a classic example of a stoic hunter who never lets his mind wander about a situation for no reason. He carries himself straight to the point, listens attentively to others while keeping his own voice secret unless he needs to speak, and is patient enough to endure daily irritation during his hunts.
Despite this, Stranger has a softer side as well. At the end of the game, he takes up the mantle of protecting Grubbs and fulfills his role as an admirable Steef.

John Marston (Red Dead Redemption Series)
The hunted becomes the hunter
While he made his first chronological appearance in Red Dead Redemption 2, John Marston made his name as a notorious bounty hunter in the original Red Dead Redemption. The Van der Linde gang recruited John as a member at a young age, and he became known as an outlaw, committing robberies, kidnappings and murders in the name of his gang. After falling out with Dutch and later retaliating against other gang members, John leaves to start a family with his wife, hoping to put his past behind him.
Unfortunately, this doesn't last long, as the head of the Bureau of Investigation kidnaps John's family to force him to hunt down his former gang. Unfortunately for his old crew, John is as capable as ever, taking them out one by one. Although John's ultimate attachment to glory and his ideals is largely up to the player's choice, no one can ever question his skill with a rifle.
Samus Aran (Metroid Series)
Taking on intergalactic missions
Samus Aran is at once both the most famous bounty hunter in gaming history and one of the most iconic characters, period. As the main character in Metroid series, Samus has made appearances across generations of hardware in dozens of titles. From the original Metroid all the way to Super Smash Bros. Samus has made her name by using powerful weapons to take down her targets.
Although her most iconic appearance is her massive Power Suit, Samus is just as capable outside of it. Her quiet nature and cold demeanor belie her strength and desire to see the job through. Even if only equipped with her null suit and a paralyzer, very few targets can ever be considered safe from her range.
Ba'Gamnan (Final Fantasy 12)
Stubborn and relentless hunting
Harboring a deep desire to capture the Sky Pirate Balthier, Ba'Gamnan relentlessly chases the party in Final Fantasy 12. Hunting alongside his Bangaa siblings Gijuk, Bwagi and Rinok, Ba'Gamnan will use any means he deems necessary to secure his prey, including kidnapping, bribery and subtlety. At one point during the story of Final Fantasy 12he kidnaps party member Panelo to draw out Balthier, though he lets her go once she fulfills her usefulness.
Despite its tenacity and seeming ruthlessness, the Ba'Gamnan is no bloodthirsty monster. He does not take lives needlessly, as he values the hunt above all else. Still, he's not above lying his way into advantageous situations, such as posting false hunt counts to ambush the party. Despite his repeated failures, Ba'Gamnan is exceptionally resilient, surviving several near-death experiences in his pursuit of Balthier and crew.

Zegram Ghart (Rogue Galaxy)
Loyalty is not part of the contract
Despite all appearances, Zegram Ghart is only 26 years old. Nevertheless, he is still a skilled and experienced bounty hunter who joins the Dorgengoa Pirates in Rogue Galaxy on dangerous missions in space. Appearing in one of the most underrated JRPGs ever made, Zegram is aloof and seemingly uninterested in getting close to Jaster and the other pirates aboard the ship, and prides himself on being a lone wolf of sorts.
Zegram loves coins as much as he loves his ex-fiancee, Jane. Coins can't buy you love, so he makes little fuss about betraying the party when offered an opportunity to resurrect Jane. But when Zegram is confronted with the reality of his decision and the nature of the resurrection offered to his former flame, Zegram once again betrays his employer, gives up on reviving Jane, and moves on with his life to aid Jaster in his adventures.

Living for two
CD Projekt Red's First-Person Masterpiece, Cyberpunk 2077sees players taking on the role of Va future legend of Night City who works as a mercenary. Their time on Earth is numbered, and the relic containing Johnny Silverhand's engram is slowly eating away at V's psyche. Taking up the name Sol Badguy, he sets out to get revenge on that man for kidnapping his lover, Aria. Sol may be belligerent and violent, but he remains a deeply intelligent and introspective man who never loses sight of his part in the atrocities that have taken place. And while he doesn't like to get involved in things outside his realm, he's compassionate and stubborn, raising his half-gear and vowing to save the likes of Elphelt despite reservations about doing so.
