8 important powers that were not further explored in the series

Naruto is filled with many interesting and mind-blowing concepts. Most of them have been explained in great detail. But there are still some important forces that remain a mystery to this day. Naruto has already ended, effectively ending any hopes of these mysterious powers being explored. Once the sequel began, the lost hope was rekindled. Unfortunately, neither Kishimoto nor Ikemoto have shown any intention of exploring the mystical powers, and that's unlikely to change anytime soon.

Hashirama's Wood Style Powers

• One of the strongest Kekkei Genkai

Hashirama was the strongest shinobi of his time. In fact, he was called the “God of Shinobi”. Under his rule, the Hidden Leaf flourished and the village was peaceful. His Wood Release was the main reason behind the village's success. Wood Release was so powerful that it allowed Hashirama to single-handedly take down armies. Furthermore, he could even subdue tailed beasts. Unfortunately, the power was never explored in detail. All subsequent users couldn't even hold a candle to Hashirama, and they seemed like cheap knockoffs.

Snake Sage Mode

• One of the most versatile powers in the series

Toad Sage Mode was first introduced when Jiraiya fought Pain, and later during Naruto's training it was fully explained. But the explanation only covered Toad Sage Mode, and the others were swept under the rug. Because of this reason, Snake Sage Mode and Hashirama's Sage Mode were never covered in full detail. To this day, fans don't know what kind of Sage Mode Hashirama had and how he got it. It's a real shame that fans will never know the truth.

The village ghost

• One of the three great Doujutsu

The Byakugan was introduced in the first part of Naruto, where it was shown to be one of the strongest Doujutsu. In some situations it was superior to the mighty Sharingan. Of course, there was a lot of hype surrounding the eye, but it all went to waste. In the second part, Kishimoto shifted the focus to Doujutsu being left the same with no visible power-ups in sight. It has so much potential, but in the end it turned out to be nothing but a huge letdown.

Cult of Jashin

Immortality is a concept first introduced through Hidan. The mercenary was a believer in Jashin and part of his cult. Hidan would sacrifice to Jashin, who in return granted him immortality. Unfortunately, Kishimoto never introduced another character connected to the Jashin cult, which feels like a huge missed opportunity. It would have been interesting to learn more about Jashin and exactly how he granted immortality.

Tenseigan

• Final evolution of the Byakugan

Tenseigan was introduced in Naruto: The Last. The first user of the Dojutsu was Hamura Otsutsuki, who used his power to stop his mother. The Tenseigan grants its user the ability to levitate, as well as access to Truth Seeking Balls. The user can also use Tenseigan Chakra Mode. Unfortunately, Hamura and Toneri are the only known users of the Tenseigan, which left behind many questions. Kishimoto had the perfect opportunity to fix this in Boruto, but he decided to abandon the idea altogether.

Madara's unique Mangekyō Sharingan ability

• The only ability that has not been revealed

Madara's name is known throughout the world. Before the current timeline, Madara used to be the rival of Hashirama Senju and fought him countless times. As a result of the immense emotional trauma, he awakened the Mangekyo Sharingan. However, Madara's special Mangekyou Sharingan ability was never revealed. There are countless fan theories that suggest that Madara's Mangekyou Sharingan allowed him to manipulate time. However, fans never got a concrete answer from the author.

Jugo's clan power

• Power similar to Sage Art

Jugo was a rogue ninja who joined Sasuke's team. He has a special ability that allows him to absorb nature's energy without forming any hand seals. This Kekkei Genkai also gives him the power to transform into a monster-like creature. With its help, Jugo can regenerate and heal others as well. Like the other entries on the list, the Jugo Clan's Kekkei Genkai was not explored in the story.

Rock Lee's Drunken Fist

• One of the most unique abilities

Rock Lee is a fan-favorite character who became popular due to his unique style of fighting. In the first half of the story, Rock Lee could give Naruto, Sasuke, or any other Genin a run for their money. One of his standout moments came during the fight against Kimimaro, who pushed him to his limits. Since Kimimaro was so superior to Lee in terms of strength, the latter had to come up with a unique fighting style, and that was none other than the Drunken Fist. Despite its uniqueness, this style has never featured prominently in the story.
