6 Users of strongest destruction technique, ranked

The Power of Destruction is one of the strongest abilities in Dragon Ball Super. Harnessing destructive energy, Destruction users can use overwhelmingly powerful techniques such as Hakai to literally erase their enemies from existence. Had Goku failed to impress Beerus Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Godswould the entire Earth have been destroyed by Universe 7's God of Destruction.

Destruction is the go-to technique of the Gods of Destruction, but it is possible for mortals to learn Hakai and other destructive abilities by training hard enough (or making a wish for the Dragon Balls). Only a few Dragon Ball characters can actually use Destruction as a technique, but that alone makes them some of the most powerful warriors in the multiverse.

Dragon Ball: 8 Strongest Versions of Goku in the Multiverse, Ranked

Between manga, anime, movies, GT, DAIMA and Super Dragon Ball Heroes, there are countless versions of Goku – each stronger than the last.

Toppo is a god of destruction in all but title

Toppo is the leader of the Pride Troopers and a God of Destruction candidate. When Belmod retires or dies, Toppo will take over as Universe 11's God of Destruction and begin his reign. In the Universe Survival Saga, Toppo was strong enough to defeat Goku during the Zeno exhibition and would have eliminated Vegeta from the Tournament of Power had the Prince of All Saiyans not unlocked Super Saiyan Blue Evolved.

Toppo's Destroyer Form radically raises his power level and mixes his God Ki with destructive power. Toppo has a strong command over destruction and can use Hakai to damage his opponents without outright erasing them – showing amazing control over his power. In a fight to the death, Destroyer Form Toppo probably could have killed Vegeta with his Hakai alone, but the rules of the Tournament of Power would have forced him to hold back.

Granolah learned Hakai when he became the strongest in the universe

Granolah uses Hakai

By wishing for the Cerealian Dragon Balls, Granolah became the strongest person in Universe 7, trading most of his remaining lifespan in exchange for the ultimate power. Granolah has only three years left to live at the end of Granolah the Survivor Saga, and one of the most powerful creatures in existence. Shortly after receiving his power-up, Granolah uses Destruction without fully understanding how the technique works.

While Granolah himself is much stronger, his version of Hakai is much weaker than Toppo's, largely because he doesn't understand how to use destructive abilities. Toppo was training to become a fighter, while Granolah simply wanted to be stronger. However, by the end of the arc, Granolah begins to adapt to the ability and can actually use Destruction as well as Beerus, instantly turning everything in his path to ash.

Gas can do everything Granolah can do – but better

Granolah's time as the strongest being in Universe 7 doesn't last long. After Elec learns that Granolah used the Dragon Balls to make himself stronger, he heads to Cereal, summons Toronbo and wishes for his brother Gas to become the strongest warrior in the universe. Unlike Granolah's wish, which directly traded life for power, Elec's wish for Dragon Balls Gas ages every time someone surpasses him, trading off his remaining years in real time to adapt to stronger enemies.

Gas has access to every single ability Granolah does, getting the same boost from the Dragon Balls but on a much more extreme scale. Gas never masters Destruction to the level that Granolah does, but he is far stronger in terms of base power level and even his weaker version of Hakai can cause serious damage. If Gas wasn't so hesitant to use his new powers and win on his own merits, he might have been able to wipe out Granolah, Goku, and Vegeta with his newfound destructive abilities.

Goku nearly fused Zamasu with an impromptu Hakai

Goku uses Hakai on Zamasu

Destruction isn't Goku's speed, especially since he spends most of his time doing it Dragon Ball Super to master the strongest versions of Ultra Instinct, an angelic technique. That said, Goku is still a fighting genius, and it only takes one look to instantly understand how to imitate a technique. During Dragon Ball Super Manga Goku Black Saga, Goku pulls out a Hakai while fighting Fused Zamasu. Despite having no Destruction training whatsoever, Goku erases half of Zamasu's body.

The only thing stopping Goku from erasing Zamasu right then and there is the fact that he drags Mai in as a hostage, forcing Goku to quit. Beerus later informs Goku that not even a Hakai can erase an immortal enemy, but the ash covering half of Zamasu's body suggests otherwise. Goku has no interest in being a god of destruction or using destructive powers, so even though he is one of the strongest Hakai users in the series, it is unlikely that he will delve into the technique again. Especially since his mastery of Ultra Instinct grows stronger with each arc.

Dragon Ball: 10 Strongest Hybrid Saiyans, Ranked

Dragon Ball's Hybrid Saiyans have overwhelmingly strong power levels that Goku & Vegeta can barely keep up with through non-stop training.

2

Vegeta slowly masters the art of destruction by training with Beerus

Vegeta has some great years ahead of him for once Dragon Ball Super Anime remake finally starts airing in the fall and setting up Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol. Not only has Vegeta officially defeated Goku in a fair fight as of now Dragon Ball Super: Super HeroBeerus has taken him as his personal student. In Granolah the Survivor Saga, Vegeta begins training under Beerus and learns how to use Destruction as a technique.

Beerus even gives Vegeta an earring for the God of Destruction, representing his growth. While fighting Granolah, Vegeta channels all of his destructive energy into a new form, Ultra Ego. Ultra Ego Vegeta is the mortal with the best mastery of Destruction i Dragon Ball. Using Hakai for outright deletion is not Vegeta's style. Instead, he chooses to use Destruction as a way to damage his enemies and give him an opening to deal his own breed of destructive damage.

Beerus & The Gods of Destruction are the ultimate users of destruction

Dragon Ball Super - Beerus' Hakai Technique

There is no better Destroyer i Dragon Ball Super than Beerus. All gods of destruction know how to use Hakai, but Beerus turns it into an art form. Beerus is in total control of his Destruction, something fans saw as early as Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods when he used his Hakai to easily destroy part of the Earth (keeping the planet completely intact).

If Beerus wanted to, he could erase any enemy (even Black Frieza). Beerus constantly has to hold back as he trains with Goku and Vegeta, but the Saiyans are slowly diminishing. Beerus' mastery of Destruction is so clever that he can even use a Hakai that hits Vegeta head-on, only destroying part of his armor.
