5 Strongest Dark Kings, Ranked

The Dark King is the highest rank of power possible in Dragon Balls Demon Realm. Both a title and a transformation, Dragon Ball's Dark Kings are stronger than the vast majority of characters in the franchise, not just demons. IN Super Dragon Ball Heroes in particular, the Dark Kings are multi-level threats that can stand toe-to-toe with Goku and Vegeta's strongest forms and most powerful fusions.

Only the most powerful demons in Dragon Ball are worthy of becoming a dark king. Powered by the Demon Realm's Dark Factor, the true Dark King transformation greatly alters the user's appearance while giving them a massive power boost higher than anything in Dragon Ball Super. The Supreme Demon Kings who never achieved the form pale in comparison and are Dark Kings purely in technique rather than power.

Honorable Mention: Dabura ruled the Demon Realm as the Supreme Demon King

Dabura was the supreme demon king in the demon realm before Babidi used his manipulation spell to take over his mind and make Dabura his slave. Unlike Vegeta, Dabura did not have the mental strength to withstand Babidi's wizard powers and became his right-hand man in his quest to awaken Majin Buu.

Dabura is only as strong as Super Saiyan 2 Gohan and Super Perfect Cell were during the Cell Games, and could never beat the number one Tamagami in the Demon Realm. Leaving the Demon Realm created a power vacuum, allowing Gomah to step in and become the next Supreme Demon King. Dabura never unlocked the true Dark King transformation, but he was a Dark King by virtue of being the Supreme Demon King.

Honorable Mention: Gomah forced Goku to use Super Saiayn 4

Like Dabura, Gomah eventually becomes the Supreme Demon King without ever triggering the Dark King transformation. That said, Gomah's Giant transformation is more or less his version of the Dark King form. Harnessing the full power of the Tertian Oculus, Gomah gains a massive power boost that can only be rivaled by Super Saiyan 4 Goku.

On top of that, Gomah becomes functionally immortal when using the Tertian Oculus. The giant Gomah can only be defeated by hitting him in the neck three times in a row. Otherwise, Evil Eye Gomah is completely invincible and can recover from any type of damage. He even powers Super Saiyan 4 Goku's Transcendant Kamehameha, one of the most powerful techniques in the franchise.

Demigra is the Supreme Kai of Time's Greatest Rival

Demigra is a major villain in both Dragon Ball Xenoverse and Super Dragon Ball Heroes. The Supreme Kai of Time, Chronoa's arch-rival, Demigra is a massive threat who seeks to take control of the concept of time – something he comes dangerously close to accomplishing once he becomes a Dark King.

Dark King Demigra is strong enough to fight with some of the most powerful transformations in Dragon Ball Superincluding Super Saiyan Blue and Ultra Instinct Sign. Demigra outright overpowers Super Saiyan Blue Goku when they fight in the Supreme Kai of Time Saga. The more Demigra uses his Dark King form's Dark Factor, the stronger he becomes, but he is ultimately defeated before he can become too powerful.

Mechikabura is immortal and almost unstoppable

Mechikabura is one of the lucky few Dragon Ball characters who are actually immortal. While Mechikabura is powerful in his own right, part of what makes him so dangerous is his ability to absorb literally anything, including concepts. Mechikabura is the main villain in Super Dragon Ball Heroes' Dark Empire and Dark King Mechikabura sagas.

Mechikabura, who was originally an old man, wants to restore his youth and in doing so restores his lost power. In his Dark King form, Mechikabura becomes a full-fledged Demon God. Due to his immortality, Dark King Mechikabura cannot be defeated in a real fight. Even Super Saiyan 4 Vegito fails to beat him, despite being stronger. In the end, the only thing that can stop Mechikabura Chronoa and Super Saiyan God Xeno Trunks working together to seal him with the Key Sword.

Fu is one of the most powerful demons and dark kings in Dragon Ball

An artificial demon and Towa's son, Fu is one of the strongest Dragon Ball characters of all time, capable of fighting Ultra Instinct Goku just fine. When Fu is granted access to the Dark Factor by Towa, Fu becomes a true Demon King, as well as Dabura's true successor to the throne of the Demon Realm. Absorbing the Time Birds, Dogidogi, and Tokitoki, Fu's Dark King form undergoes a metamorphosis that ages him and imbues him with unbridled power.

This version of Dark King Fu is so extremely powerful that Hearts even compares him to Zeno. Dark King Fu is strong enough to take hits from Super Full Power Saiyan 4 Limit Breaker Xeno Gogeta without dying on the spot. By absorbing the power of the Universe Tree, Dark King Fu transforms himself into one of the most powerful beings in the entire multiverse. The only reason he loses in the end is because CC Goku is the single most broken character in the franchise, killing him with an Extreme Kamehameha.
