On a Dec. 27 episode of the XboxEra podcast, co-host Sipetal Nick went over some “cross-dimensional” gameplay features that a supposed inside source said will be in the next The Legend of Zelda. According to the leak, the Switch 2 is the first main line Zelda the game will use the same engine as BOTW and TOTK but with some technical improvements, given the new system's more capable hardware. More interestingly, however, much of the puzzle solving in the game will revolve around opening and pulling things through interdimensional tears. It seems to be in line with the franchise's current trajectory, and after Echo of wisdom setting a new bar for combat innovation, jumping between dimensions could be a logical next step in the series' quest for greater player freedom.

In another example, players can fill a room with water, causing a ball to rise above its surface in one dimension, causing the same obstacle to float in another dimension.
