Zelda movie leak reveals possible images of Zelda and Link actors

A new leak has surfaced that claims to show photos from the production set of The Legend of Zelda Film. While many Nintendo fans are looking forward Super Mario Galaxy movie next year, this new leak could provide a teaser of what the upcoming movie brings Zelda franchise may look like.

After the huge success The Super Mario Bros. MovieNintendo announced that they would be partnering with Sony to produce a film based on The Legend of Zelda. Although the film was announced as early as November 2023, it recently began production in New Zealand. Fans know several details about the project, including that it will star Benjamin Evan Ainsworth as Link and Bo Bragason as Zelda. Additionally, Wes Ball was revealed as the director, who has spoken about his passion for the project in the past.

Despite the secretive nature of the project, images of the cast and crew have potentially leaked. Several new clips on Instagram claim to show the film in full production in a forest location. In one of the leaked clips, an actress who appears to be Bo Bragason can be seen wearing clothes similar to what Princess Zelda would wear in the newer 3D games. The footage shows the actress walking towards several horses and talking to a new character. Although unconfirmed, some fans believe that this character could be Impa. In addition, fans believe that the actress is Dichen Lachman, who has previously starred in Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes and Apple TV+ Severance pay. The community pointed that out too Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes was directed by Wes Ball.

The second clip in question contains a glimpse of Benjamin Evan Ainsworth as Link. The footage shows the actor wearing a green tunic similar to what the iconic Nintendo character has worn in the franchise's games, and he is seen donning some sort of cloak.

It's worth noting that none of these leaked images have been confirmed by Nintendo, so it could end up being fake. However, The Legend of Zelda movie recently started shooting in November, which makes this leak seem more credible. In the end, fans will likely have to wait until Nintendo makes an official announcement to learn more concrete details about the film, which is slated for release on May 7, 2027.
