ZA-ranked Mega Stone Reward Bug Officially addressed

Official Pokémon channels have acknowledged an ongoing bug with Pokemon Legends: ZA which prevents players from getting the Mega Stone rewards they expect from ranked battles. The problem is not fixed yet, though Pokemon Legends: ZA players have been offered some insight into the issue and what will be done about it.

Pokemon Legends: ZA players have participated in the game's Ranked Battles, which pit four players against each other in real-time pokemon battles online. Pokemon Legends: ZA kicked off Season 2 of its Ranked Battles on November 5, with a number of rewards players can potentially claim depending on their performance. This includes Delphoxite, the Mega Stone used to transform Delphox into Mega Delphox, and a second chance at Greninjite, which was originally available in the first season. However, some players who have reached the ranks required to receive the stones have not received them.

After players reported not getting the Mega Stones they expected from participating in the new Ranked Battle Season, officially Pokémon channels issued a tweet confirming that the team is aware of the issue. Unfortunately, there has been no word on when a patch will be pushed out to fix the problem, as the cause is still under investigation. The machine-translated tweet indicates that steps will be taken to ensure affected players “can obtain it”, but did not specify how at the time.

Given that the current rated season of Pokemon Legends: ZA has barely started, hopefully the team will be able to change this issue before it can affect the majority of the player base. With Delphoxite being rewarded at Rank S and Greninjite being redistributed at Rank Y, those who have yet to participate in the ranked battles may want to wait until the issue is fixed. The season is currently scheduled to end on November 25th, so even if the fix takes a bit longer, there should be plenty of time left to participate. There is also a chance that the ranked season could be extended to make up for the mistake.

Although the majority of those responding to the news seem to be taking it in stride, it would certainly be a good idea to get these issues resolved soon. Pokemon Legends: ZA will get its first DLC in the form of Mega Dimension on December 10th, and bugs like this could potentially turn players off at the thought of spending another $29.99 on the game. With any luck, a patch will arrive quickly, and no major bugs will appear before the DLC's release date.
