Pokemon Legends: ZA Legends has introduced a bunch of new Mega Evolutions, some of them pretty awesome, and others extremely cursed – looking at you Mega Starmie. Regardless of what you think of their designs, it's nice to see some new Pokemon getting Mega Evolutions so long after the gimmick was first introduced, and for fans of a certain Dragon/Ground type, it was a chance for redemption.
A Mega Flygon is something Pokemon fans have wanted for a long time. You can very easily find Reddit threads from years ago calling for #JusticeForFlygon, but all those years ago fans had pretty much given up hope of Mega Evolutions coming back. With Pokemon Legends: ZA bringing the gimmick back with a bang, Flygon fans had renewed faith that their favorite green dragon would finally get the respect it deserves.
But Pokemon Legends: ZA came and went without a single Mega Flygon in sight. It was demoralizing, but the Mega Dimension DLC being announced before the game's release was bound to deliver, right? This is most likely the last chance Flygon has to finally get his Mega Evolution, so it needs to be there. Right?
Pokemon Legends: ZA Mega Dimension Has Broken Flygon Fans
Unfortunately, it seems Game Freak has some kind of vendetta against poor Flygon. Pokemon Legends: ZA's Mega Dimension DLC is now here, flooding the game with a bunch more Mega Evolutions, but none of them are the elusive Mega Flygon that fans have been asking for for literally years. They have not taken it well.
Most of the anger has been directed at other Mega Evolutions, such as Tatsugiri, and the Pokémon that have received two, such as Lucario and Absol. Mega Garchomp also seems to be catching a lot of heat from Flygon fans, as can be seen in the Reddit thread above from a user named MajoraPosser.
“Another miss on Mega Flygon. I'll never get over this,” reads a comment from a user named Aeropsia. “They gave two Megas for Garchomp while Flygon isn't in the game, wtf did Flygon do to gf?” reading another comment from a user named Electrode_. I guess with Garchomp as a co-dragon, people see it as Flygon's rival, but it seems like a pretty one-sided rivalry.
It's a similar story on Twitter as well, with some people balking at another DLC expansion that could potentially include a Mega Flygon, but if Game Freak has plans for one, it's keeping its cards pretty close to its chest. A tweet from Twitter user Pory sums up the whole situation pretty well, stating simply that “it's over” along with a gif of someone crying. To be honest guys, I'm right there with you.
