A new update has been released for Pokemon Legends: ZA on both the Nintendo Switch 2 and the original Switch, bringing the game up to version 2.0.2. The latest main post in the series, Pokemon Legends: ZA serves as a follow-up to the 2022 century Pokemon Legends: Arceus. The Legends games have become quite popular Pokémon fans, as Game Freak has used them to clarify previous locations from the series. While Pokemon Legends: Arceus offered information about the past of the Sinnoh region, Pokemon Legends: ZA showed how things have changed in Kalos after the events of Pokemon X and Y.
Since its launch, Pokemon Legends: ZA has seen a number of different in-game events to keep players invested. Notably, Ranked Battle Seasons have given players a chance to get new Mega Evolutions. A “special season” of Ranking Battles is currently underway Pokemon Legends: ZAwith strict rules about which Mega Evolutions can be used in battle. On top of all this, the game's Mega Dimension DLC was released in December, offering new story content and challenges for players to overcome. There has been speculation if more paid content will be released for the game, but nothing has been announced at this time.
Pokemon Legends: ZA DLC is getting a boxed release
A boxed version of last year's Mega Dimension DLC for Pokemon Legends: ZA is coming to store shelves for Nintendo Switch and Switch 2.
What to expect in Pokemon Legends: ZA Version 2.0.2
Pokemon Legends: ZA players can update the game to version 2.0.2 right now on both the Nintendo Switch 2 and the original Switch. Nintendo usually offers detailed patch notes about what to expect from first-party game updates. That's certainly not the case this time, as the official website vaguely states that “several issues have been fixed.” It does not give Pokémon fans have no idea what exactly has changed, but it is possible that more information may be revealed by the fan community once players have time to dive into the latest version of the game. It often happens with these types of updates, with fans stepping in to offer a bit more clarity beyond what the patch notes indicate. Regardless of what has been changed, hopefully this all leads to a more stable game and a more enjoyable experience overall.

It is difficult to speculate about any specific issues that may have been fixed as a result of this new update in the Pokemon Legends: ZA. While Pokemon Scarlet and Violet was released in rough form and required many updates over the past four years, there weren't nearly as many noticeable bugs or performance issues with Pokemon Legends: ZA.
This update for Pokemon Legends: ZA may not seem like a big deal, but players should still be sure to update to the latest version of the game. Generally, Nintendo games require updates before they can be played online, and that will likely be the case with version 2.0.2 of Pokemon Legends: ZA. Players currently participating in the Ranking Battles special season, or planning to do so before April 1st, must run the latest update if it hasn't done so automatically on their system. This will also be the case for any special content that is released, such as Pokemon Legends: ZAs latest Mega Garchomp Z event. Nothing new is expected right now, but that doesn't mean there won't be additional special content for the rest of 2026.
