Pokemon Legends: ZA looks pretty promising at the moment and offers fans a huge shaking to the standard formula with real -time blows and an open world city to explore. However, it seems that the shared trauma that all Pokemon fans experienced during the launch of Scarlet & Violet has taken their toll, as there are a lot of fans who are not so happy with how the game looks.
Thanks to Pokemon Worlds that took place over the weekend, a bunch of new Pokémon legends: ZA pictures were shown, including possibly one of the most important moments in the game in terms of story. A cutting scene of the game's main character who apparently meets Zygarde for the first time has done the rounds on social media, and to say that some fans are upset about it would be an understatement.
Pokemon Legends: Za -fans are not happy with the game's “cheap” screen
The scene in question appears to be our protagonist who is attacked by the dog form of Zygarde, before the camera strangely points up in the sky. It is a bit bizarre, but some fans have already started to thump on Pokemon Legends: ZA as a whole, frustrated that we do not see higher quality, even though Pokemon is the largest multimedia ip on the planet.
A Twitter user named Augustaven is such a fan, who claims that we will never see any quick improvements thanks to Game Freak who has “become comfortable being on the literal top”. Their Tweet is filled with like-minded Pokemon fans, such as Omegakatanaxiii, which continues to claim that Game Freak has again “[cheaped] out in the graphics department ”.
A user takes up Digimon Story: Time Stranger as an example of Pokemon-Esque Cutcenes done right, but Digimon has a fraction of the budget that Pokemon does, while another fan pointed out that Game Freak actually makes a very detailed and impressive title for PS5 and Xbox called Beast of ReinCar nation.
Personally, I think it is a bit quick to judge a complete game based in four seconds of pictures, but I also agree that Pokemon can be a bit more high production, given that it is easily Nintendo's largest franchise in recognition and sales. We have to see if Game Freak can prove the doubts wrong with regard to Pokemon: Legends Za's performance, but let's be honest. Everything will be an improvement compared to Scarlet & Violet.
