Xbox publishes 2 games on PS5 this month

There was once a time when you needed an Xbox console or a PC to play games published by Xbox Game Studios, but now these games are easily available on competing platforms such as PlayStation 5including two new titles released in February 2026. Xbox changed the industry forever when it decided to start releasing its games as multi-platform titles, bringing some of its biggest releases to the PS5 and Switch. While this strategy has resulted in higher sales for some games, it will likely do serious long-term damage to the Xbox brand from which it may never truly recover.

Regardless, it's good for PlayStation 5 players that they can play Xbox Game Studios games without having to buy an Xbox console or powerful computer. So far, PS5 players have been treated to heavy hitters such as Forza Horizon 5, Indiana Jones and the Great Circleand Gears of War: Reloadedwith plans to bring the upcoming Halo 1 remake, Forza Horizon 6, Fableand Gears of War: E-Day to PS5 later this year.

PS5 has 8 major games releasing in February 2026

PlayStation 5 gamers have a lot to look forward to in February 2026, with eight major new game releases on the horizon.

While these games are still months away from release, PS5 players have a couple of titles to look forward to in the more immediate future. Later this month, PS5 players can look forward to playing Avowed and Towerbornetwo games published by Xbox Game Studios, on their console of choice. Unlike most new game releases, we already have a good idea of what to expect from both Avowed and Towerborne quality wise, so PS5 players should be in for a treat.

New Xbox games coming to PS5 this month

Avowed – February 17th
Towerborne – 26 February

Avowed will be released for PS5 on February 17th, a full year after it was originally released for PC and Xbox Series X/S. Developed by Obsidian Entertainment, Avowed similar in style to games that The Elder Scrollsalbeit much smaller in scale. Avowed received mostly positive reviews upon release and was hailed as one of the better Xbox published games released last year. PS5 players looking for a great action RPG experience should definitely mark their calendars accordingly Avowed fits the bill and then some.

Then, on February 26th, PS5 players can check out Towerborne. Towerborne is a beat 'em up/action-RPG hybrid developed by The Banner Saga studio Stoic which has been available in early access on PC and Xbox for the past few years. Towerborne has received much praise in early access, so it's no wonder that many fans of the genre are eagerly anticipating its full 1.0 release. When Towerborne1.0 release is out, it will also be made available on PS5, marking yet another Xbox published game coming to Sony's console.

While no other Xbox published games currently have specific PS5 release dates, we do know Oven and South of midnight coming to console this spring. Oven is a new multiplayer party brawler game from Double Fine, while South of midnight is a stylish action-adventure game that was first released on Xbox last year and managed to win a few awards in the process. We also know that Fable reboot is coming to PS5 this fall, but a specific date for that game has not been announced as of this writing.

Forza Horizon 6The release date is May 19 for PC and Xbox. We know that Forza Horizon 6 is getting a PS5 version as well, but we don't know exactly when it will be available. It is still expected to decline in 2026, but as is Gears of War: E-Day and Halo: Campaign Evolved. More information about these games and their PS5 ports should emerge in the coming months.
