The Xbox Games Showcase has been confirmed for June 2026, when there will also be a special direct focus on Gears of War: E-Day. Previous Xbox Games Showcases have featured deep dives into specific games directly after the main event, with the 2023 event featuring a Direct for Starfield (as an example), and this year's goes to the future Gears of War game.
The announcement comes on the heels of the recent Xbox Partner Preview, which put a premium on third-party games coming to the Xbox ecosystem. This showcase not only highlighted 13 days of games coming to Xbox Game Pass, but it paraded over 20 upcoming games that look really good. Next-gen discussions may be starting early, even for Xbox and its Project Helix console, but it seems the eye hasn't been taken off the ball.

Since it's a few months away, the developers probably won't confirm its appearance until we're much closer, but fans Gears of War know when they can at least learn more about it. They have waited long enough, and if games like Fable get a new look too then it will be a good day for players.
