August 31 will be the last day that Xbox Game Pass Subscribers can play two of the subscription service's best co-op game: Borderlands 3 and Sea of Stars. Xbox Game Pass provides subscribers access to all types of high quality games, including a healthy selection of co-op titles that support both locally and online.
Local Co-op used to be the norm, but in recent decades have seen the industry focus almost entirely on online co-op experiences. It does it especially when a game comes out that supports local co-op games, and it also makes it particularly disappointing when local co-op games are given from services such as Xbox Game Pass. Unfortunately, the Xbox Game Pass will lose two of its better local co-op games in the very near future.
Borderlands 3 and Sea of Stars leave Xbox Game Pass
After August 31, Xbox Game Pass subscribers will lose access to Borderlands 3 and Sea of Starswhich stands as two of the best local cooperation experiences on the platform. Borderlands 3 Features 2 players shared screen throughout the game, and although there were technical problems with the function at launch, it is much better on more powerful hardware. Sea of StarsMeanwhile, offer local co-op games for up to three players, giving fans the chance to experience the critically acclaimed toured RPG with friends.
Borderlands 3 is a massive FPS adventure that has several classes, billions of weapons and dozens of hours content. Sea of Stars Is not a content-slope either, with a story that takes about 25-30 hours to get through, plus a free DLC expansion that adds even more content to the mix. Some Xbox Game Pass subscribers may not even have realized that Sea of Stars Supported local co-op, but that is because it was not launched with the function. Sea of Stars Co-op was added to an update at the end of last year.
