Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 and Final Fantasy 3 has joined Xbox Game Pass content directory earlier today, March 3rd. The RPG duo arrive just hours before Microsoft is expected to officially announce the Xbox Game Pass Wave 1 lineup for March 2026.
Since the beginning of the year, Microsoft's subscription service has been adding games at a significantly higher rate than its usual rate. 18 new titles joined in January, with another 20 arriving in February 2026. Xbox Game Pass lost 17 titles in the same two-month period, resulting in a net gain of 21. The number marks a notable improvement over the first two months of 2025, when the service added 21 games while removing 28 other losses out of seven. Overall, that puts Xbox Game Pass 28 games ahead of where it was at this point in 2025.
Xbox Game Pass adds 2024 games with “overwhelmingly positive” reviews
The 19th title to join Xbox Game Pass in February 2026 is a 2024 release with over 31,000 “Overwhelmingly Positive” player reviews.
Final Fantasy 3 and Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 debut on Xbox Game Pass
The latest Xbox Game Pass catalog expansion took place early morning ET on March 3, added Final Fantasy 3 Pixel Remaster and Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. Arrivals are available on all non-essential tiers: Ultimate, Premium and PC Game Pass. Both mark their Xbox Game Pass debuts, as neither was previously available on the service. While mechanically about as different as two RPGs can be, they also have one major point of overlap: strong critical reception. Final Fantasy 3 Pixel Remaster has an average score of 82 on OpenCritic, while Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is one of the highest rated games of 2025 with an average of 89 on the platform. Both also have “Very Positive” user reviews on Steam, although Warhorse Studios' medieval RPG has a significantly larger sample size, with just over 60,000 user ratings compared to roughly 1,500 for Final Fantasy 3.
With these additions, Microsoft's subscription service has received 40 new titles since the start of 2026. Classic Square Enix JRPGs account for three of them, or 7.5%, followed by Pixel Remasters of Final Fantasy 1 and Final Fantasy 2 joined Xbox Game Pass on January 8th and February 3rd respectively. If the current trigger pattern holds, remaining Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster titles could arrive in the second quarter of 2026, continuing the schedule of one release per month.

More Xbox Game Pass news is expected later today
As is often the case, Final Fantasy 3 and Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 were announced as the final titles in the Xbox Game Pass Wave 2 lineup the month before launch. The minor discrepancy with the schedule is consistent with another long-standing pattern: Microsoft's preference for announcing its subscription content ventures on Tuesdays. Based on the company's usual pace, the list for the first half of the month will most likely be announced later today, March 3, around 06:00 PT / 09:00 ET / 15:00 CET.
The only title currently confirmed for the next batch of arrivals is Planet of Lana 2scheduled for a day-one launch on March 5. Although Xbox Game Pass currently has more than 20 day-one titles that were announced for 2026 but have yet to secure firm release dates, most of them are not expected to arrive until spring at the earliest. As a result, they are unlikely to arrive in the first half of March ie. this season's last full winter wave of additions.
