WWE 2K26 has just revealed tons of official information about this year's installment in the wrestling game franchise, including confirmation of special editions, game modes, and additions to its roster. The first few months of every year are ripe for wrestling fans getting ready for Visual Concepts' next game, and WWE 2K26 looks to contain much to entertain them.
As we arrive just in time for the annual Royal Rumble, the wave of new information is sure to excite wrestling fans for WWE 2K26launches on March 13 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series XIS, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC. While some information like Superstar ratings will likely be revealed closer to release, fans can now learn more about upgrades to WWE 2K26s recurring game modes, expensive special editions, characters and more.

A leak could reveal the potential release date for WWE 2K26 along with the platforms the game is expected to support at launch.
WWE 2K26 Game Modes Confirmed
WWE 2K26s official website has been updated with tons of new information about the upcoming game. Finally stepping away from last-gen consoles, this year's installment will see the return of all the game modes that made their way into WWE 2K25including story-heavy modes The Island and MyRise, card-based MyFaction mode, strategic MyGM mode, and classic sandbox universe, all of which have received some interesting upgrades. 2K has also confirmed rumors of a CM Punk Showcase in WWE 2K26allows players to relive some of the best in the world's best matches and rewrite history with some dream matches that could have happened if the Straight Edge Superstar had stayed with WWE for his entire career.
As for the other game modes, there are many exciting changes in the works. The MyGM mode returns with more cross-brand PLEs and the ability to extend seasons to as much as 50 weeks. While drafting wrestlers has long been a part of MyGM, WWE Draft is also now coming to Universe, which also gets more promotion types and improvements to its Money in the Bank cash-in mechanic. Players will also have more options in MyFaction, with the new addition of cross-gender teams and a system that allows the stats of wrestler cards to be improved based on their chemistry. Those looking for a story-driven experience can once again look forward to MyRise, where player decisions are promised to have greater consequences than before, and The Island, which is confirmed to be about three warring factions fighting for control after the fall of Roman Reigns.

The team at Visual Concepts plans to launch WWE 2K26 with a roster more than 400 wrestlers strong, although only a fraction of that amount has been officially revealed. Following earlier reports of WWE 2K26A new reveal shows stars Rey Fenix and Izzi Dame also joining that roster, along with ever-popular Scottish TNA transplant Joe Hendry, who comes as a pre-order bonus in some versions of the game.

The updated website confirms the existence of WWE 2K26s long-awaited Attitude Era edition, and it's not even the most expensive. Four different versions of the game are available for pre-order now with the Standard Edition for $69.99, the King of Kings Edition for $99.99, the Attitude Era Edition for $129.99 and the Monday Night War Edition for $149.99. While these advanced packs are expensive, each level up gives players more content, including additional legendary wrestlers, taunts, and virtual currency.

2K has also confirmed rumors of four new match types WWE 2K26. As revealed by Game Informer after a virtual preview of the game, the 3 Stages of Hell, Dumpster, I Quit and Inferno match types will all be present in WWE 2K26increase the number of available match types while keeping open the intersex option introduced in WWE 2K25.
Some other special features were revealed through the preview report regarding small but significant changes to the game. Staples and shopping carts will be introduced as new weapons in WWE 2K series. Wrestler entrances will have more interactive elements to showcase personality, allowing players to manually set off pyrotechnics, hype up the crowd, or perform actions that showcase their face or heel personality, such as accepting or rejecting pre-match handshakes. And the commentary options expand as well, with Booker T and Wade Barrett lending their vocal skills to the team.
