World of Warcraft reveals new rewards for Return of Plunderstorm

Days before the return of the Plunderstorm game mode to World of WarcraftBlizzard revealed some of the pirate-themed rewards players can earn, including pets, mounts and cosmetic ensembles. The new one World of Warcraft rewards will be available through the Plunderstore, replacing the old Renown lane and giving Plunderstorm players more choices when it comes to selecting the rewards they want.

Initially introduced during Patch 10.2.6 by Dragonflight expansion, Plunderstorm is a retail Battle Royale PVP game mode World of Warcraft client that pits up to 60 players against each other in Arathi Basin. Getting inspiration from games such as FortnitePlunderstorm allowed players to queue either Solo or in Duos to grab Plunder and use spells inspired by World of Warcrafts 13 classes to take down the competition. The original run of Plunderstorm lasted over a month and was positively received by World of Warcraft players who want a change of pace. Although Blizzard originally planned it to be a limited-time event, World of Warcraft players have since been asking for Plunderstorm's return.

Blizzard announces six new Warcraft conventions

Blizzard is kicking off 2025 with a bang by announcing six conventions to celebrate Warcraft's 30th anniversary taking place in the first half of the year.

Almost a year after the first iteration of Plunderstorm came in World of WarcraftThe Battle Royale game mode returns with new rewards. According to a post on social media by Blizzard, some of the rewards that World of Warcraft players can earn by playing Plunderstorm, including Hooktalon and Plunderlord's Midnight Crocolisk mounts, Sparklesnap and Parley battle beasts, and Plunderlord's Stormridden Finery transmog ensemble. Each new Plunderstorm item is a dark-colored recolor of cosmetics that previously existed as renown rewards. In response to player feedback, Blizzard has significantly changed Plunderstorm's reward structure and then phased out the Renown track in favor of Plunderstore. Players can spend Plunder, earned by playing Plunderstorm normally, on rewards available in both The war within and World of Warcraft: Classic.

World of Warcraft reveals new Plunderstorm rewards

Alongside the return of Plunderstorm, World of Warcraft will offer a new Twitch Drops reward to users who connect their Twitch and Battle.net accounts. After watching up to four hours of World of Warcraft content on Twitch via any participating channel, Coward's Azure Target will appear in players' transmog collections as a back. The Twitch Drops campaign will run from January 14th to February 4th, giving players three weeks to claim their cosmetic reward.

Plunderstorm will flow in World of Warcraft from January 14 to February 18. Whether or not the awesome Battle Royale mode returns as an annual event is up to the players and Blizzard to decide.
