Plunderstorm is a pirate-themed Battle Royale game mode World of Warcraft was introduced under Dragonflight 2024. Recently, it announced that Plunderstorm would return on January 14, 2025, with both the original and all-new rewards for World of Warcraft players to collect.

World of Warcraft players who subscribe for six or more months at a time can get some in-game items for both modern and classic.
Unfortunately, it seems World of Warcraft ran into some issues trying to roll out Plunderstorm again. The originally scheduled six-hour maintenance for the gaming event was recently extended to eight hours, with the servers scheduled to come up at 3pm PST. But according to a forum post by Wow community manager Kaivax during said extension, “unexpected issues” have delayed the launch of Plunderstorm a little longer than expected. While World of Warcraft hoping that Plunderstorm can be played before January 14 is over, fans currently have no further estimate on when that might be.

Before the end of January 14, after “unexpected problems” are resolved
Fortunately, World of Warcraft were able to bring their normal servers back online in the meantime. Players eagerly awaiting Plunderstorm can freely log in and complete their Siren Isle weekly papers, starting their second week of World of Warcrafts Turbulent Timeways event, or do other activities in The war within.
The second round of Plunderstorm in World of Warcraft adds a few new features, such as the Plunderstore and a game event interface that can seemingly be accessed when logged into a character. It is possible that these features were the cause of these unexpected problems, so hopefully, World of Warcraft can sort them out quickly so fans can start looting again.
Fortunately, the game mode lag hasn't stopped World of Warcrafts new Plunderstorm Twitch Drops from being available right now. Players who watch four hours of any Twitch streamer in World of Warcraft category before February 4 at 10 PST can earn Coward's Azure Target back transmog. The chosen content creator doesn't actually need to play Plunderstorm to progress on the Drop, meaning fans are free to start earning this item while they wait for World of Warcraft to start game mode.
