Gesture of the Mighty Wolf is Varka's signature weapon and his best-in-slot, as it provides an insane amount of the stats he needs. Claymore's passive increases Varka's ATK SPD, DMG% and Crit DMG. This improves Varka's performance on the field and ensures that he deals high DMG as long as he uses his kit's combo attacks, such as casting his elemental skill and performing normal and charged attacks. Varka also gains Crit Rate from the weapon's substat, meaning that Gest of the Mighty Wolf greatly increases his Crit value.

Having a four second duration on all of these buffs means Varka has to stay on the field. He will lose all of his signature weapon buffs almost immediately after leaving the field.

Mavuika can hit really hard with A Thousand Blazing Suns. When Varka uses it, it gives him a decent amount of ATK% and Crit DMG when he uses his Elemental Skill or Burst. Considering he needs his elemental skill for his combo, it's easy for Varka to meet the 5-star Claymore's requirement. Unfortunately, Varka doesn't have Nightsoul's Blessing mode, meaning he can't activate the rest of Claymore's passive. Still, Varka can perform at a high level when using the Thousand Flaming Suns during battle.

It's only fair for Varka to scale with ATK%, and not with Elemental Mastery or other stats, just so he can use this ancient bad boy. Wolf's Gravestone gives Varka so much ATK% that it makes it easy for him to fulfill his Ascension passive which increases his Anemo and elemental DMG based on his total ATK. It also increases Varka's team's ATK%, which helps the Sub-DPS units on his team. Keep in mind that when using Wolf's Gravestone, Varka loses a large portion of the Crit value he gets from his best weapons. So you have to make it up in Varka's build.

The Unforged only works if Varka has a shielder in it Genshin Impact. Without one, Varka loses about half of the ATK% that the Claymore gives him.

Serpent Spine, Talking Stick, and Blackcliff Slasher are all similar in the sense that they have Crit stats like a 4-star weapon. However, the first two are premium Claymores obtainable via the Battle Pass, while the Blackcliff Slasher is a F2P weapon.

Earth Shaker only works in Varka Pyro teams Genshin Impact. Whenever Varka or his team triggers a Pyro reaction, Varka gains extra Elemental Skill DMG, which you'll use often. Like most other 4-star weapons, Varka gains ATK% from Earth Shaker's substat, which is an important stat for him.

A Day Carved From Rising Winds artifact set increases Varka's ATK% through its 2pc effect. It further increases Varka's ATK% when he casts one of his attacks, such as Elemental Skill, Normal ATK, or Charged ATK. Since Varka is one of the Hexerei characters in Genshin Impactartifact set increases Varka's Crit Rate if you have completed Witch's Homework.

It's important to note that Varka needs the ATK% and Crit Rate he gets from the A Day Carved From Rising Winds set, as it will make building him much easier. Not to mention, it will help him fulfill some of his passive ascension requirements.

When Varka switches to Sturm und Drang, he will gain an additional use of the special Elemental Skill Four Winds' Ascension.

Additionally, after switching to Sturm und Drang, Varka will gain the Lyrical Libation effect: When unleashing the special Elemental Skill Four Winds' Ascension, or when performing the special Charged Attack Azure Devour, Varka can consume this effect to deal 200% of the original DMG dealt by Four Winds' Ascension or Azure.

When unleashing the special Elemental Skill Four Winds' Ascension, or when performing the special Charged Attack Azure Devour, Varka will perform an extra strike, dealing AoE Anemo DMG equal to 800% of Varka's ATK.

When Varka triggers a vortex reaction, based on the elemental types involved in the reaction, all nearby party members gain a 20% Anemo DMG bonus and the corresponding elemental DMG bonus for 10s.

Sturm und Drang is improved:

For a short time after unleashing the special Elemental Skill Four Winds' Ascension, pressing Varka's Elemental Skill or holding his normal attack will not consume any use of Four Winds' Ascension, and will perform another instance of the special Charged Attack, Azure Devour.

For a short time after performing the special Charged Attack Azure Devour, tap Varka's Elemental Skill to unleash another instance of Four Winds' Ascension without consuming any use of Four Winds' Ascension.

When you trigger an extra special charged attack, Azure Devour, or unleash an extra special elemental skill, Four Winds' Ascension, this way, the above effect cannot be triggered.

Additionally, Azure Fangs Oath effect is improved in Ascension Talent Wind's Vanguard: Each stack of Azure Fangs Oath will increase Varka's CRIT DMG by 20%.
